  1. He was "put on restriction" by the field ump during the game on Monday, I'm assuming this meant he was ejected from the game, but did not have to leave the field. I am not sure about that, also not sure if him sitting this one out was by KHSAA rule or coaches decision.
  2. Maybe the bullying in school issue needs it's own thread? Just a thought...
  3. It's not a safety squeeze when the runner goes with the pitch. Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
  4. Why would you suicide squeeze with the winning run on 3rd and one out when all you need is a pop up to the outfield and you win??? If you do it with 2 outs, get the bunt down, run scores and you win. And if you don't get it down then oh well. Go play extras. Why waste the opportunity for a sacrifice fly? A hard ground ball that gets through, a throwing error to first base?? Your chances of getting that run across with 1 out are far better than wasting it with a sacrifice bunt attempt. But hey, I'm probably wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
  5. The suicide squeeze call was probably one of the worst coaching decisions I've seen in a while. With 1 out and the winning run on 3rd base, all the batter would need to do is hit a pop fly to any part of the outfield, and Cooper wins the game. Instead the coach called a suicide squeeze, pitch out, runner was dead meat. Now if there were two outs, I'm all for trying it. But never with one out. That was just bad.
  6. There is already a thread about it, but I'll add it here. AJ Collins from Cooper is going to Thomas More. Word is he'll try to play football and baseball. Nice pickup for TMC
  7. I'm pretty certain the person who was sitting in the announcers tower, that was asked to leave is not the PA announcer. Just another person who was sitting up there.
  8. Stating fact is fine, I'm all for it. But when it comes to calling kids punks and their dads fools I feel like it should be done elsewhere. Like in a conversation with the father. Not on a forum with a masked identity. I'm fully aware of the meaning of the word enabling. I'm not making excuses for anyone. Try laying off the caps lock next big guy. And I think one exclamation point would be sufficient. Also word of advice, when making a loud statement, such as the one you just made, try spell checking first. 9. I posted this earlier. Catcher was set up to receive the throw from left field, ball in the air, on it's way home, catcher in position.. After the catcher was positioned, the ball was cut off. In no way was he to know the ball was going to be cut off 3/4 of the way down the 3rd base line. That is why I said it was a judgement call by the ump, and he deemed it was necessary to run the catcher.
  10. If the ball is on its way to him, i.e. a throw from the field, he has the right to position himself for a play at the plate. In this situation, he was positioned in front of the plate, awaiting a throw from left field. This throw was sub sequentially cut off, therefore, there was no "Play", and the umpire deemed he was blocking the plate with no cause..
  11. True or not, this comment is out of line, and FYI.. If you were betting on this one, you'd loose your money
  12. If there is no play at the plate, the catcher can't block the plate. Since the throw from the outfield was cut off, technically there was no "play". The umps interpreted the rule in the way they saw fit. In my opinion, the Conner catcher shouldn't have been run, but he was.
  13. Not sure if you were at this game or this comment is simply hearsay, but I was at the game, standing behind the backstop, and the player who was ejected did not pull his car to the fence to play music. As a matter of fact, the only vehicle that was parked behind the backstop was the athletic trainer's golf cart, and Mr. Stellman's pickup truck.
  14. Blake Maines may have a bad reputation... However let me say this, he DID NOT have a single thing to do with the incident. Which in all honesty, was not really a big deal on the field. The issue is with the Ryle person who decided it would be a wise choice to walk from the far end of the bleachers to the opposite side of the facility just so he could harass some parents. He continued his obnoxious behaviors, even shoving his elbow into a mans face before he left when he assumed the police were being called. The police were not called. The athletic director, Tom Stellman, was called. I was at the game. Within hearing distance of the pre mentioned Ryle parent when the whole issue occurred. Any other side of the story is bunk. I was literally within 10 feet of the whole thing. It's already being blown way out of proportion. It all boils down to absurd behavior by a moronic person. There was really nothing that happened ON the field that was out of line. Nobody tripped anyone purposely. Players collide from time to time playing baseball. And that is what happened, incidental contact. The plate up even said out loud "It was an accident" when the Ryle kid tripped over Maines, who was trying to back up the catcher during a potential play at the plate in the first inning. Blue Tip, I'm interested to hear what you mean by "selfish agendas" in regards to the Conners players. Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
  15. Which coach are you talking about? And could you be a bit more specific about your comment? Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
  16. Fogle's leg is not a serious injury. He is taking it easy. He had a slight pull in his hamstring about a week ago, and is easing back into things. No reason to rush, and cause a real problems.
  17. As good as he is at baseball, He is equally as good, or in my opinion, a better football player. Natural athlete, pretty much good at everything. But he is 100% pure football player. If you ever saw him play on Friday nights you'd know what I mean. Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
  18. Cameron now has all of the career offensive records except doubles and home runs. He'll get the double record by seasons end. Not sure he'll catch the homers record but its possible. Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
  19. Fogle is now 2-2 with two home runs an a sac fly. I'd say he's the best hitter in the region. Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
  20. Fogle just led today's game vs CCH off with a laser beam off the scoreboard for a home run. First pitch he saw. With that hit he now holds every career offensive record at Conner with the exception of home runs and doubles. He's 6 away from the doubles record. Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
