Clearly you don't know what you're talking about.

    That's funny.

Not sure I follow pal. Your previous posts regarding PT 'semi' redshirt season, painted the picture that you don't understand how the red shirting of players works. You asked if he can red shirt again since he 'kind of' redshirted last year. That's not a real thing. You don't kind of red shirt. Either you do or you don't. You don't have I be a freshman to redshirt either. After his injury last season, he could have been given a redshirt and began this season as a red shirt freshman rather than a true soph.

If he redshirted this season. Next season e would be a redshirt soph.

I guess I don't understand your issue. He didn't RS last year. He is allowed to RS for one season. Why does last year's non-redshirt have any impact on this year?

He clearly doesn't understand what a redshirt season is.

  3. I agree which is why I'm really hoping he gets a shot this year. Once he has a chacne to show what he can do it's harder for the coaching staff to forget about hiim and let the so called High Recruits come in and push Cam to the back of the line. Just give him a shot this year is all I'm hoping for (besides him being healthy his career).

Fogle will not let anyone "push him to the back of the line".. Not a chance.

  4. Just a question about that...we know KY is light at receiver talent this year, but they have what could possibly end up with a top 10-15 recruiting class coming in next year. What's that do to his chances? Really am curious.

I'll say this.. Just because someone is "ranked" with a bunch of gold stars from the various media blowhards means jack squat when it comes time to strap up and play ball

  5.

Actually he did get a lot of attention for his baseball. Was actually considered by a couple MLB Teams who thought about drafting him. Football is his first love and he wanted to play it at the next level and that is why he chose football over baseball.

    Well stated buddy.

I have heard his name twice in the past two days on KSR.. I have read a couple articles that he's mentioned in since camp started this week. Coaches are taking notice. Ive said it all along, but ill say it again, I will not be surprised one bit to see #83 making plays on the field for the Cats this season.

  7. I was told that last year's game at Conner set an attendance record for the Cougars. The place was packed and stacked. Great atmosphere for a HS football game for sure. Expect the same this year over at Cooper.

I've seen more in attendance at CHS in the past. Last years Conner Vs Cooper game was packed, but I don't know if any attendance records were broken. I'm not sure they are even kept..

  8. He runs a 4.75-4.8 range 40. He turns 17 in July  which is just rediculous, so he has a lot of growing left to do. He will redshirt this upcoming season so then he will be with the grade he is supposed to be in. I would say a rover, hybrid linebacker would be the ideal position for him. Definently a great player for special teams. I don't know how many remember, but he blocked numerous field goals in his career at X. I think even both of the extra points by trinity in the playoffs last season (may have only gotten one of them).

With him being only 16 years old now, i'd say he's got some growing to do, which in turn means, he'll be able to get that speed down. For him to play a LB type position, he'll need to get that speed down in the 4.5 to 4.6 range. He'll prob stay put at D-End, possibly a stand up D-End. He's got a great foundation to work with a 6'3'' frame

  9. A friend of mine sent me this pic the other day that he pulled off the Internet.

Looks like Fogle will be wearing #83 for the blue and white. I've heard good things coming from Lexington about him already and he's only been officially with the team for two weeks or so. Like Clyde said , the QBs have all had nothing but praise for him. Should be fun. The door is definitely open for him as well as the other incoming freshmen, considering that Coach Stoops dismissed two lettermen WRs from the team last week.

  10. It would seem that Conner lost a lot of options and productivity with graduation of Fogle and 90+% of the offensive line. If the current lineman can step up and give Drew and Co time' date=' the offensive should be fine. Defensively is where the Cougars struggle. Even last year you cannot score 50 points a game and lose. That's crazy and hopefully will be addressed. Hammer, chill out. You will be able to see Cameron and Drew again on the field very soon. Not real sure why I need to chill out... Enlighten me?

It has Zero Bearing because exactly zero of last years seniors are on this team. This thread is about this year not last year buddy. Let it go. Please.

So, let me get this straight... You don't want to discuss how the loss of key players from last year is going to effect this years team? Don't want to discuss some players that are going to fill those voids? Things that can be done, or need to be done to improve from last season? Very confusing my friend. Again, if I'm not mistaken, that is the point of this thread.

  12. How about this thread stays on the 2013 version of the Cougars? Last year has zero bearing on this season.

Explain how the players lost from last season, and discussing those who are to replace them THIS season has "zero bearing" on the 2013 team?

That is the point of this thread buddy.

Fine, let us play your Scott game out.

    1) Lets first take under consideration that all offseason Conner built their offense and practiced their offense built around Cameron. It's not easy for one week to suddenly change your offensive gameplan. But that's no excuse for a bad game.... HOWEVER......

    2) Against Scott, Conner had over 500 yards of total offense and their 4th highest regular season scoring output. In comparison, Cooper had over 300 yards of total offense and their 2nd highest regular season scoring output. South Oldham had over 500 yards of total offense and their 3rd highest regular season scoring output. Seems rather even to me offensively.

Basically to say that kids will have to step up is kind of obvious; what high school doesn't lose a talented senior? Offensively no Conner fan should be worried. Giving up 32 points to Scott is the problem, but to say Drew was by himself on offense is frankly just inaccurate.

Agree I disagree. We'll see how the season goes.

  14.

3 of 4 wide receivers return along with the best QB in the state. Every highschool in America has players they have to replace. Conner runs a spread offense which takes the pressure off of the line anyways with read options and 3 step drops. Conner (under Trosper) has never been a 3 yards and dust team with an overpowering offensive line and they always do well offensively. I would not read too much into the Scott game if I were you. Fogle is obviously a huge loss but Conner was fine offensively before him and will be fine after. If I had a concern with this team it would be on the other side of the ball....

How many games las year did the Barker/Fogle combo score the vast majority of the points? Pretty much all of them. Hell, in the South Oldham game Fogle scored 6 TDs and Barker had the rest. Granted they gave up a ridiculous amount of points, and lost. But when 1 player has 6 of your touchdowns and another has the rest, that's telling me not many others stepped up that night.

I love how words always get twisted around on this site. I never said Conner was screwed because Fogle graduated. All I said is that the others are going to have to step up in a big way. There are some returning skill players in Way, Loney, who is coming back from season ending knee surgery last year, and Jessie Mckeehan will return however he is very injury prone.

They lost their TE, the majority of their line, a top 3 skill player in the state. Plain and simple Drew Barker is going to need help, and its yet to be determined if he's going To get it. That's all I was saying.

May I ask why I shouldn't reference the Scott game from last year. The team Conner fielded that night is just about what they will have this year. Give or take a few players.

  15. Exactly how many games did Conner's starting line play last year? I strongly disagree with your prediction and I think you are really underestimating what the returning players for Conner are capable of doing. None of the teams you have Conner losing to will be powerhouse teams.

That is fine, you can disagree with me all you want but the fact of the matter is, in the Scott game last year there were multiple starting linemen out, those who were out, are not returning due to graduation. The line is young and unproven.

The teams that I predicted CHS to loose to don't have to be powerhouse teams in order to win. Scott wasn't a powerhouse last year, and nearly beat them. I am fully aware of what the players returning for CHS are capable of doing, I've seen many games in which they have played.

Like I said earlier, there are going to have to be MANY guys step up big time for the Cougars this year. As good as Barker is, he can't do it all by himself, and he can't play defense. He's got to have guys to block for him, and teams are going to key on him big time, so others in the skill positions are going to have to step up in a big way.

Just look at past seasons, there were times when I saw Fogle in motion, and two guys would follow him; in the Dixie game, three guys followed him. This opened the offense up huge for Barker, as well as allowed the other guys to get open. In previous years, it was either bracket Barker and Fogle would burn you, or vice a versa. This year, teams are going to key almost solely on Barker. He is going to need help. I also don't foresee Conner putting up the huge point numbers they have in the past.

I will say again; I want nothing but the best for CHS this season, but it's honestly too early to tell
