Grant Wassom was a very nice receiver. Surprised he didn’t play in college anywhere.

  2. All depends on if OSU takes Oats. If they do UK is looking at a top 40 class which is still good for UK. But not as good as the top 30 classes over the past 3 years.

How many spots are left for OSU and how many recruits are they still serious about. I know they just picked up a WR.

  3. I voted NO mainly because I am not certain Cal's top priority is to win a National Championship.

Cal's main priority is to get guys ready for the next level....to change families for generations to come....he has said it many times. And he is very good at doing that.

So a typical Cal year may get you 30+ wins a year, but not necessarily a national championship. The national championship would be a cherry on top but I do not think that is the ultimate goal for Cal's program.

So if what I said is true, as a UK fan, are you Okay with that or do you want a coach who aspires to win national championships? IMO I am fine with with the way things are and hope Cal continues doing exactly what he is doing now.

He can say what he wants but he’s a competitor and he definitely wants to win games. Nobody wants to lose. His track record of final four appearances along with the one championship are proof that his philosophy has no impact on the ability to win it all.

  4. Great post @nkufan23. Some good info there.

I'm excited about both of those shooting guards. My buddy was telling me about EJ Montgomery yesterday, be nice to round out the class with him.

With a few of our guys like SGA, PJ Washington, Gabriel and Greene returning next year, the Cats could have some pretty good depth.

    Thanks!

Keldon Johnson is so gritty and hungry. I love his game, he has so much potential. Herro is a lot like Devin Booker who also happens to be his favorite player. He’s super underrated, Luke Kennard was awesome but if he was a five star than I don’t know how Herro isn’t as well. They say Quickley is a mix of John Wall and Brandon Knight and I’ll definitely take that.

I’m not sure if Shaq’s Son is still an option but we lead with 100% confidence in his crystal ball. I can’t find any info but I thought he was still able to back out of Arizona. Montgomery plays a lot like Vanderbilt, he’s smooth. James Wiseman is apparently still an option to reclassify as well, 100% of his crystal ball also sits with Kentucky.

I’m also excited about the future. Especially with some experience looking like it will be returning like you said.

  5. Looking at it right now I would say no. It looks like he is losing his touch on the recruiting trail. I don't think he is a good enough coach without the top tier talent to win a title.

In the 2018 class UK currently has the #4 class. Ahead of them are Duke, Oregon and UCLA. Each of those schools have an extra commit. I trust that Cal will find at least one more guy. Possible EJ Montgomery the 2nd best PF and 6th best recruit overall.

Quickley is the 3rd best PG, Johnson is the 2nd best SG and Herro is the 5th best SG but is due for a climb in the 247 rankings (ESPN just gave him his 5th Star). Essentially Cal has three five star recruits in this current class and has lost touch with recruiting.

In 2017 Cal reeled in the 2nd best recruiting class behind only Duke. This class was made up of 7 of the top 30 recruits. The average ranking of this class was 99.06, Duke’s class had a rating of 96.72.

In 2016 Cal reeled in the 2nd best recruiting class behind Duke. This class had 5 of the top 30 recruits. The average ranking of this class is 99.55, Duke’s class had a rating of 97.31. Duke also had an extra commit to give them the #1 class.

I’m not trying to go after you, a lot of people are saying Cal has slipped in recruiting. Just taking the chance to state that I don’t see how Cal has slipped in recruiting. Too much stock is being put into snagging the top 5 guys in each class. I’m more than happy with top 15 or top 20 guys. Cal has these guys fighting for elite eights and final fours every year. If you make it that far you have a chance and that’s all you can ask for.

  6. I watch every WVU game. I’ve been following Beetle ever since he came into a game as a freshman at Pendleton County and completely changed the game. At least I think that’s what happened, my memory could be failing me.

I’ve adopted WVU as my second team, I’m a UK fan first. Really wish I could afford the tickets for the game in Morgantown on Saturday. Asking price is just too much.

  7. I've purchased electric remote control cars for the grandsons over the years, cheap disposables, nothing special. This year, the oldest asked for a NITRO RC Car. I thought that was pretty cool that he wanted to take it to the next level. I'm sure we're probably jumping a few levels but I thought I'd look in to it.

Anyone out there have a nitro rc car? Thoughts on a beginner/entry level car/truck/buggy/truggy?

I honestly know nothing about these cars but my uncle runs a very successful hobby shop in crescent springs. He sells a lot of RC Cars, Boats and planes and I’m confident he can answer any questions you have and get you a good deal on one. The name of his shop is Hobby Villa, I’ll apologize in advance to the admin if this kind of recommendation is frowned upon. I’m just trying to help out a fellow Bluegrass Prepper.

  8. He had nine points and six rebounds with a couple very impressive dunks and blocks. His upside is insane and will play in the NBA someday. More skilled than Cauley- Stein at this point in his career.

I did see a highlight of an impressive dunk from a Moeller player. I assumed it was him but I wasn’t sure. Glad to hear he’s performing well. Thanks for filling me in, I hope to make out and see him play before he leaves for Texas.

  9. Did Barker ever play against legitimate competition? I’m not trying to say that NKY 6A or the other NKY schools for that matter are a pushover but are they as good as what Hoak or Clark seen in their respective parts of Ohio or Wilson in OK? I think Barker may have been overhyped. And I was very excited about Barker coming out of HS, Towles, Guidugli and Lorenzen all had success but they also come from a football factory. I think maybe Barker just whooped up on weak competition in high school and wasn’t all prepared for the SEC.

  10. Amazon Firebox hardwired, not over wifi. Then subscribe to Sports Donkey and download it to the firebox it’s $50 for 12 months. You get every channel imaginable live, every sporting event live and you they have an on demand section for any sporting event that you may have missed. I won’t post the link because I’m not sure if it is allowed but a quick google search will get you to the sports donkey webpage.

Other good pay for live tv apps that can be downloaded to the firebox are sportsaccess which is a little more pricier but has an easier userface.

I’ve had the firebox/sportsdonkey set up for over a year now without a problem. It’s been amazing. I think I pay $65 a month for spectrum high speed and that’s it. I do suggest the firebox over the fire stick just for the ability to hard wire it to your internet connection and watch everything buffer free.

  11. Hunter Greene made his pitching debut today. From redsminorleagues.com ...

The first pitch of the game was 101 MPH. It was a strike looking. The next pitch was also 101 MPH. The next two were only 100 MPH. The first batter eventually singled into right field as there was some confusion on who would play the ball between the first and second baseman. The next hitter grounded into a force out. With the third batter at the plate, The recently turned 18-year-old Greene went to work and showed off his pickoff move to an unsuspecting Tristen Lutz who walked back to the dugout. The final batter of the inning also walked back to the dugout as he was the victim of

Hunter Greene’s first professional strikeout. It took 15 pitches to get through the first frame. Speaking with a source in Billings the 15 pitches resulted in 14 fastballs thrown and 1 breaking ball. The breaking ball was 83 MPH. The fastballs were thrown between 98 MPH and 101 MPH. Greene topped out at 101.7 MPH according to the Trackman that is installed in Dehler Park.
