  1. Would've been nice to see Arredondo in this pressure situation to see what he's got when thrown straight into the fire
  2. Here we go Leeke enjoy, you get your first taste of the minors after this weekend...
  3. Dusty please play Lewis more atleast against righties...Gotta love him going the other way too many pull hitters on this team...31Doubles 5 Triples 8 Hrs 17 SB last year guy can play a bit...
  4. Mark Bellhorn is the cubs/sox int I was thinking of...Jared Fernandez was the Knuckler I had to look it up it was bothering me
  5. Alex Ochoa I think that was how you spell it I liked him...Some other names Kip Wells, Lance Davis who I thought was going to be good, Paul Bako, Norris Hopper...There was an inf that played for the cubs and red sox too and had a few decent years for the sox can't remember his name right now he was a fairly big name for awhile...Also who was the knuckle baller we had five or six years ago? I think he went to the stros after the reds...
  6. My preference would be Budweiser but if I had choose a light beer it would be the silver bullet but those are my beers not my cheap beers
  7. Beer 30 ...Good times at a low costs after a few you can't tell its the cheapeast beer around a case of 30 for a 10 spot..
  8. He hit like 17 hrs for the reds for like 40 rbis and the next year hit like 23 hrs and drove in over 100 Runs for the Rocks...It is crazy lol but some could've been due to playing at Coors
  9. Here are guys that played in a Reds Uniform and for the most part were already washed up or blossomed after leaving the Reds. But for the most part most of these guys were at one time top players in the game and the Reds got them when they were already washed up. For years the Reds tried to make a living off of players past their prime thinking they could resurrect their careers. Out of all these players only one Bip Roberts actually made an All Star game with the Reds. There are a lot of guys that I wanted to mention that I didn't because the thread title is Former BIG Name Reds Players. 10. I don't understand the fascination with Volqeuz at all he had one good year a lot of which could've been due to no hitters ever seeing him before idk but lots of pitchers with stuff have not produced in this league because there is something between the ears that also matters tremendously. Volqeuz lacks the mental aspect of pitching and there is a good chance he always will, the only way to try to correct it without hurting the reds is in AAA...Im tired of hearing his defenders bring up his stuff...Its all about making adjustments and so far he is not doing it...Do you think in 07 the Tribe wanted to send Cliff Lee to the minors when his Era was above 6 in 16 starts no they did not, but is he a cy young winner now yes he is...
  11. They signed Willis to do exactly what he is doing and that's finding his old self...He will be up very soon mark it down..
  12. On 700 they are pretty much saying Arredondo will come up for Leake but something also needs to be done with Volquez Chapman and Gomes which I agree on all except for possibly Chapman...Gomes I think you replace with a platoon of Lewis and Heisey untill Sappelt comes off the DL at AAA and if Sappelt continues to impress you bring him up unless Gomes is showing improvement...Not many agree but if Willis impresses again in his next start I believe he is the answer for Volqeuz...
  13. Nope he is 23 years old and your number one pick his future is as a starter and he still has quite a bit to work on to be an ace type starter which is what you expect from your number one pick...add in the fact he has never evenexperienced the minors and in my mind its not a tough problem to solve Leake needs to go down...
  14. My bad have you ever posted from an android its not the easiest with auto correct, im not sure it really matters either way as he will be sent to the Bats before the Cardinals series and nobody will be talking about him...
  15. Auto correct is to blame for the spelling errors...Its interesting that Volquez is out of options but how many chances do you give a guy...When your fighting for playoffs its hard to keep running him out there, It would be different if it were two or three years ago when the Reds could afford to take their lumps which is what they did with Bailey...
  16. Willie is 29 and im sure the Reds signed him to see if he could pitch his way into the Bigs as a low risk high reward signing and he is doing just as they had hoped im sure...On the other hand Leeke is what 23 and never experienced the minor leagues, Big League hitters are beginning to figure him out and his best days are ahead of him the Minors would not detail his career...Lecure is solid but he is a perfect long man in the pen he can make a living at that, im not so sure he can make a living being an every 5 th day starter...Lastly Maloney im not really sure what he has proven or earned he is average at best and has the most starts in Louisville bats history which is probably his ceiling more than likely...But themselves you have Willis who was a Phenom who got derailed by injuries and mechanical issues and his ceiling was as high as one could be and actually if he has found himself again at 29 years of age he is in his prime and although he may not of earned his chance with the Reds he has put in his time and his resume shows him to.be more deserving of another shot than of the guys above...But what do I know? Lol
  17. http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/687168-cincinnati-reds-is-it-time-for-the-d-train-to-roll-through-cincinnati http://www.metrowny.com/columns/627-Is_Dontrelle_Willis_really_working_his_way_back_to_the_big_leagues.html A couple links on the comeback trail for Willis I forgot he also swings a big stick for a pitcher...
  18. Yeah he seems to have found himself at AAA he is touching 95 mph and as everyone knows he had a few ch young caliber years in the NL...Its worth a shot in my opinion what can it hurt? You actually have nothing to lose and a lot to potentially gain if Willis is his old self...
  19. Walks will haunt...Willis for Volquez and Arredondo for Leeke needs to happen...but im sure Dusty will shoot that down to because its more about the stuff than throwing strikes...
  20. Espn listed Volquez as one of a few pitchers that could throw a no no today lol...so far so good
