  1. I didn't say tonight anywhere, they both suck but Edgar has had key walks this year and makes the pitchers work a bit more...I wonder how bad Cairo would be at short can't be much worse on d than Edgar but he always seems to hit...
  2. Has anyone really been praising Renteria? I think we are tired of both, however Renteria puts together much better at bats...
  3. Agreed...He gets a couple inches or more on both corners...The Lewis at bat in the 6th was terrible...
  4. Phillips, Votto, Rolen all get hits in the first...
  5. What do you do when Bruce and one of the catchers get on a head of Janish, forfeit the runs? Janish can't even get a sac down most of the time, he is only good as a defensive.replacement late in a game when protecting a lead...
  6. And Gomes plays because of his heart, very sad...LF can be solved or at least there are options in aaa...SS we have Cozart or Valaika in aaa, Frazier could play it with limited range...The bottom line is defense is great but many of the better shortstops have there problems on d from time to time...Rollins, H Ramirez, A Ramirez, Furcal, Tejada and Reyes all have struggled. From time to time in the field...If fielding was that important Golden Hands Castro would have started for many teams
  7. Yes I had enough sample size the previous three years, there is a reason Gonzo, Cabrera and Renteria have been brought in and that's because Janish sucks...Only thing is Renteria isn't Gonzo or Cabrera so its tuff plug him in there but id still rather have Edgar up with runners on...The 8 spot in the Reds lineup is a spot that is going to have RBI opps hitting behind Hernandez and Hanigan therefore Janish can't be hidden in the 8 spot...Whenever Leake, Wood or Willis if and when he pitches for the Reds id rather have them bat 8th than Janish...
  8. I've actually been a member for over three years I've heard it all...Different username that's all
  9. Has anyone ever told you that you are a terrible Reds fan...Never anything positive to say...It doesn't matter if Janish is the worst SS in baseball and possibly AAA offensively, they don't need Reyes or anybody because they aren't going to win anything this year right? I can't believe you call yourself a fan, I don't think you have ever said anything positive about the team...Its the 3 rd inning and the Reds are going to get killed already, please the Reds will win this one...
  10. That's what im saying doc when the nl average for pitchers is higher than a starting SS for the month of May you have a serious weekness in the order no matter where you bat him...
  11. You have to win for them too come.and that's my point this a a year they need to win to keep the excitement in the city going up...The warm weather is here the people will come if the Reds stay in contention...Reyes puts buts in the seats Volquez puts his but on the dugout bench seat after 2 or 3 inn and people hate to go to games he pitches...This is a year that ownership needs to show they are committed to winning and its going to take some moves...If the Reds don't make the playoffs and never make a move lots of people will be unhappy...
  12. He wasn't terrible I don't know why you keep saying that, he was average...He has looked good this year touching 95 on the gun...Is Leake doing any better, EV blows, Bronson is well Bronson he is up and down, Wood and Cueto have looked good and Bailey is putting up ace numbers thus far...O and you have LeCure who is better in the pen than he was as a SP...So you have 3 guys pitching good, LeCure in the pen and Volquez in the minors...Not many SP options left at this point, Willis wasn't signed to be in aaa he was signed to make a comeback at a low cost and he had done better than he has since he left Fla, now is a better time than ever to see if he can be effective in the Bigs again, if so win we have another SP to keep or trade and if he blows for the Reds we cut him... Willis on the year...3 wins 1 loss...Era 2.72...43 ip...2HR...14 BB...37K... 6 ip....0er...1bb...5K 6ip.....0er...2bb...6K 5ip.....1er...2bb...4K 7ip.....2er...2bb...4k 6ip....4er....1bb...10k 5.2ip..3er...3bb...5K 5.1ip...2er...1bb..2K 2ip.....1er....2bb...1K
  13. Willis was going to be brought up and he will still be up after his time on the DL which is just a 7 day stint...He will take the 40 spot...
  14. My question still is why can't the payroll increase...does payroll stay the same from year to year or is it possible an owner will open his pockets a little more to better the team?
  15. I'd hope it would be Hernandez because he bring more in return and Mes is an Offensive Catcher just like Hernandez, Hanigan is a better Defensive backstop with a pretty good stick still...
  16. Bad timing...Good move i guess although I can't stand Fish I guess they are running out of options...
  17. I agree although I think they could use Hanigan or Hernandez to net something..I think Mes is ready to at least backup one of the two...
  18. Randy (Macho Man) Savage's dream was to make it to the Majors http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/the_bonus/05/23/macho.man/index.html?eref=sihp&sct=hp_t12_a2
  19. ESPN suggests this deal: Reds trade C Ryan Hanigan to Rays for P Alex Cobb and C Kelly Shoppach. The Rays are getting no production from their John Jaso/Shoppach platoon. The Reds' 4.71 ERA from their rotation ranks 14th in the NL. Thus, a perfect trade matchup. Hanigan is probably the best backup catcher in the majors. He doesn't have much power, but takes a walk and rarely strikes out (he has more walks than strikeouts in his career). More importantly for the Rays, he's signed to a cost-friendly contract of $4 million total through 2013. Cobb is an underrated pitching prospect who doesn't wow scouts with his stuff, but he gets great results. He throws strikes and led the Southern League with 9.6 Ks per nine innings last season. He had a 1.31 ERA in seven Triple-A starts with a 45/10 SO/BB ratio and made his major league debut on May 1. The Reds can afford to trade Hanigan with two excellent catching prospects in the minors (Devin Mesoraco and Yasmani Grandal) and Ramon Hernandez still on the big league roster. Who gets bumped from the rotation? Take your pick. Bronson Arroyo and Edinson Volquez have both been terrible.
  20. Nvm Frazier back to AAA and Fisher up to help in the Pen according to Fay...Makes a lot of since if true, NOT, gotta feel sorry for Frazier a bit...Kid earned a shot
  21. I have heard people say that Frazier might only be with the Reds for the Philly series...If so shouldn't he get a little playing time, or does this mean that he isn't getting sent back down and that he will have plenty of time to get in games...This meaning Gomes is going to be shipped out?
