  1. Maybe so, but it seemed like most of the conversation was about who wasn't on the floor instead of who was.

I can't argue that point. No one has really posted any details about the game. What did Gallatin do well and what did Conner do well. Seemed like it was a battle, the last update i got was tied at 51 with 2:30 or so to go. Was hoping to get some details on here.

  2. Yeah, what I take from most of these posts is "Conner lost because of X, Y, and Z, but congrats on the win GC." Maybe Gallatin should give the win back because Conner didn't have some key players.

    Great win GC!

Sounds like that is what you want to hear, I have not seen any excuses made. It's a fact they are out a key player whether or not that played a factor in it or not who knows.

  3. I wasn't able to attend this but I would have to think missing Meyers had to have hurt Conner at least somewhat. She is a strong and physical inside player that works hard on the boards who plays very hard. I also understand that a couple of the freshmen who dress for varsity and get some playing time were unable to attend since they had a freshmen tourney to play in. Going today to watch Conner play Collins this afternoon. With this being said I would like to congratulate Gallatin Cty on a very nice win.

It is my understanding the the freshman team played with only six players in the fresh tourney. Was it an off night for Conner shooting outside?

  4. Anyone think it's a little odd when a 6th grader goes to charity stripes and misses the shot, and the opposing team's parents cheer and clap?

We all know it happens in high school, and all the fans do it, and that's part of the package. But 6th grade parents?

Calpping is mild, I have heard parents whistling or creating loud noses during the free throw shot in an effort to distract the shooter. Why a parent would do that I do not know.

  5. I watched an AAU team this weekend, the Tri-State Warriors out at SOAS and they were absolutely loaded with 7th grade talent. Does anyone know where these boys play Middle School ball?

Perrin, Bell, Craddock, Miller, were just a few names I saw on the scorebook. They had blazing speed, big size and just got after it.

I think a better question is why are they playing AAU ball during the season?

  6. I was telling a buddy today that if you gave me any of their 4 good PGs I could take the rest of the bench and compete and come in near the top.

You could divide this team up and compete. They were clearly the more talented team on the court yesterday and that carried them thru the game. Still some work to do as they are in only in the 6th grade. Hope they continue to grow and learn!

  7. I was at the playoff game last week. About 14 kids in the student section. No row was more than 2/3 filled.

I know this because when the school fight song played I had a great view of everyone since I was the only adult standing up and clapping.

The C club has about 50 people over there. Maybe.

I hope a big crowd shows up. Fun team to watch and they deserve support.

There were quite a few more than 14 kids in the student section.

  8. I'm just glad that the KHSAA has allowed our poor little talentless FC team a chance to play such a superior group of athletes! I just hope we can keep it close for 5-10 minutes to make your trip down from Northern KY worth it.

My sister now lives in Frankfort but she never told me how sensitive everyone is down there. I would hate to see the reaction is someone actually said something negative about the football team. Fact is Franklin County's schedule is not as tough as Conner's but they are 11-0 and you have to give credit for that, you still have to play the games. This should be a very good game against 2 teams that are very evenly matched, wish I could make the trip. Food for thought below:

  9. I heard that the ref's originally called a # on the Cov Cath roster that did not exist-so maybe that's how it got down to two.

Honestly the whole thing was mishandled by the crew and they hurt both sides with strange calls during the game. The whole incident occurred in between a just completed 4th down & punt return when there were Special Team, Offensive & Defensive players coming on & off the field anyway- so no way on earth to accurately pinpoint who was legitimately coming or going off the field.

Would have been better off just pulling the players apart and flagging both with offsetting personal fouls.

    How so?
