  1. It was a game of runs being made by each team. SK executed and hit shots at the end when GC didn't. 32nd District is wide open in my opinion.
  2. Think what you will though.
  3. Source told me that the transfer didn't start for Williamstown, so I see little impact on Grant other than more competition and numbers in practice.
  4. Carr has gone to Shelby Valley. 95% sure...
  5. From what I heard, anglin didn't always start. And that is just my opinion, families best interest or not. It is 6 months out of a year. The kid should stay in school where he has always been. Leaving now is ridiculous.
  6. Any team returning 4 starters that was 7th in the State for defense will do decent(better than .500) next year. Grant lost a very good defender in Anglin, but Austin Johnson will return and is the hardest working player Grant County had last year. Not to mention, Saylor will see more minutes this year along with Schneider. Grant will have some size on the court next year. Things don't look as bad as you make them. Personally, I believe it is ridiculous to transfer your senior year for a sport. Maybe BGcat can shed more light on the situation.
  7. Any word on Tyler Carr yet? Braves will still be hard to beat with out him...
  8. Good catch... But I meant CCR actually.
  9. The only fact anyone can draw from this post is that you clearly do not like the County...period. It's easy to bash a team when there are biased parents or ex-players on here that never got their minutes. And since when have all these "facts" been exclusive to Grant County? It goes on across the country...no doubt in my mind. Someone listens to too much Bob Seger "Heard it Through The Grapevine"....But lets get back on subject. Anyone heard of a time table set for when they would like to make a hire?
  10. You know, the only reason people hate on Grant are because of people like you. I don't know where you are from, but it is clear you do not like the Grant District. The situation with the administration only worsens when people like you complain based on rumors more than likely. Let's see some facts before you go bashing the Braves...
  11. Grants tenacity and hustle more than made up for their lack of size inside. Lack of size may not even be the right phrase to use. They have two 6'5" kids Saylor and Schneider that can get the job done for the Braves. Hopefully they can find a coach soon, development this summer will be the determinant in how next season pans out. Thought 2 of the 3 Oldham schools graduated a good amount of seniors and lost a lot, maybe I am incorrect.
  12. They have the POTENTIAL to hire a solid coach!!! Hicks was a solid coach, but was not a long term kind of guy. Gotta have a little faith in the program guys.
  13. Can't say this is a surprise. For Braves basketball, Hicks' departure will be missed. Although Hicks is criticized for playing a soft schedule, you have to hand it to the man, a win is a win. You had to start somewhere to get the taste of victory in a program that had been used to meritocracy since the end of Kinmon's time. It would be in the best interest for Grant to consider Plunkett for the job, but when was the last time a reasonable decision was made in this county? Cleaning house may be the best option for the program as it looks like Utter is long gone as well. Steve Simpson, while a worthy candidate, may not be the best option for Grant. If the program wants to sustain any sense of pride and morale, they will need a coach that will remain long-term. Returning home for Simpson may seem nice, but by being this close to retirement, will he really want to put up with the circus surrounding the team? Grant needs to find an experienced coach with a clean slate, unlike Hicks, that will remain there for awhile. As a former player, it is unfortunate to see the coaching changes and drama that has plagued the team in recent years. I hope the best for the search committee and trust they have the POTENTIAL to make a great hire! The talent is there, and Grant is a favorite for representing the 8th region at Rupp next march. Hopefully someone can take this challenge on and lead the Braves to Lexington!
