  1. I don't know why everybody thinks the next Ryle game will be very different. They RUN THE BALL. After HHS made Halftime adjustments they didn't do that terribly well either......Ryle has never been known to improve dramatically throughtout the season and remain very one dimemsional IMO. IF the Birds don't play smart and stay in their areas of responsiblity, then I foresee a problem in the next game, but as everyone knows, they are very disciplined and will continue to improve over the course of the season moreso than anybody they will play from here on out.....I predict a 3TD victory in Union. JMO.

  2. I know many think that but I am not so sure. Pike is a unique mix. He has the arm and he has great size. He can run the ball, similar to how Florida used Tebow. He is very elusive for his size and tough to sack, similar to Rothlisberger. I think this is when he is most dangerous ... scrambling and buying time for a receiver to get open and having the arm to hit him anywhere on the field. He also will surprise you with his speed. I think there is a very strong chance he plays QB at the next level. And I will even go out on a limb and say he very well could end up at Florida hoping the Gators will again break out the Tebow playbook with Pike at QB.

Pike does NOT like that much contact. There will be not Tebow style offense to use him in, I can almost guarantee that.

  3. I think the move to 4A will most definitely create more of a challenge for the future Birds.

How does everyone think the Birds would match up this year against Boyle Co and their stud Div 1 LB? That used to be a great rivalry and I am sure it will resurface.

I'm sure Boyle is good, but probably not nearly as good as Ryle. I think the Birds would do to them what they do to other good teams they face....JUST WIN BABY!:D

  4. Mex, i would love to see HHS play a Turpin or Anderson type cincy team regularly, but I don't think most of the Cincy teams are up for playing HHS due to the Harbin points problem should HHS beat them. Let's face it, HHS could beat most of the Cincy teams year in and year out except for the big 4 teams. That could be one hindrance to scheduling more Cincy teams.

  5. I was not aware that Ryle's field was county funded. The people at Conner, Cooper and Boone must be really ticked off that the BOE funded Ryle's field. Unfortunately, this is not Kenton Co., where the BOE funds athletic complex improvements.

Well where exactly do you think the BOE's money comes from for these fields? It's certainly not exclusively from school fees and city taxes paid in each district. It's also not exclusively form state matching funds......So where is the money coming from? I know the answer, BTW.

  6. That last response was classic.......BTW, was it not just about 6 years ago that HHS's field was considered state of the art in playing surfaces? It surely did not go downhill that fast.....Even Ryle's county funded field won't be considered new in about 3 years. Geesh, get over it folks. HHS would have won that game in a cow pasture, so don't make excuses Ryle fans.
