  1. If not for a few uncharacteristic turnovers in the last game, HHS could have easily won by 4 TD's. That being said, I think HHS underestimated CCH's offensive fire power. Some adjustments will be made on D and HHS will be much better equiped to handle Gabe Gray this week, IMO. Highlands D got noticeably better as the season went on I thought. I think this could be a very close game for the first half with HHS scoring some late TD's to pull away towards the end. Weinrich is very good at making adjustments, especially if given a half a season to think about it, and the Birds will be better prepared to stop the run this time.

  2. That's fine. However, if there are qualified candidates that do not apply then I don't want to hear any more about "testing yourself" or "taking on challenges" or whatever other cliches some Birds fans like to throw out when talking about their program.

Again, I am not criticizing the coaches. If they love their gig God bless them. Fans just can't have it both ways.

Keeping the "Machine" greased and rolling the way HHS does is just as hard as building a program and probably more pressure. The players and coaches at HHS "Test themselves" and "Take on Challenges" moreso than any other team in NKY. Not sure where you're going with that.
  3. I am going to say the leading candidate for this job that nobody has mentioned is Kevin Siple. If Siple would be offered it I think he takes it and if Siple applies for it I think Dixie takes him. JMO
I was actually thinking that same name myself, but I wasn't sure if he was a full time teacher as well or not. I'm sure Dixie wouldn't hire a Para-professional for this job, and wasn't sure of Siple's teaching status. You are absolutely right though, if he wants it and they don't hire him, they are not looking to win.
  4. Nobody mentioned him, so I will.

Ed Ziegler, NewCath '66. Rushed for 1500 yards in 10 games while playing in the GCL when Bacon and Purcell were still in the south and very, very good. (Think about that, 150 yds/game playing 7 GCL opponents.) Signed w/ the defending National Champion Fighting Irish. Two year starter. Now a nationally recognized Evironmental Law professor and writer in Denver.

This guy was UNBELIEVABLE back in the day. Was 6'1" and 215 lbs. Ran with power and speed. Just got his National Championship ring from ND in a ceremony honoring their 66 National Champs team. He was a freshman then and frosh couldn't play or travel with the team. BTW, he is actually an INTERNATIONALLY known Zoning and Planning attorney traveling abroad often and lecturing and consulting. Went to UK law school after a brief stint as a NY Giant. Interesting fellow to say the least.
  5. Stop it Cricket!!!!!!!!!! You and I both understand what Highlands is all about, its about Tradition. You know that better facilities wouldnt help them win more or beat teams by more points.

I guess new state of the art facilities would stop all of the crying and complaining on here about Highlands facilities and using them as an opportunity to take shots at Highlands instead of taking care of their own business on the field. LOL

I vote no on any upgrades or improvements. Its our 12 th man and it seems to be working.......

Dang Sweep, I'm surprised you can't hear the sarcasm coming from my keyboard with this post.......lol!:D
  6. Jeff James was an awesome guy.....I used to love hearing him sing "Love Me Tender" in the locker after a Bellevue Victory.
He really was "Mr. Bellevue". He was truely a Tiger at heart and loved BHS football like no other, including former players. I remember watching him walk into practice with his cowboy boots and JR Ewing cowboy hat. Awesome stuff. He is truely someone that binded together many BHS players and fans for decades. I'm sure he is representing Tiger Nation well in Heaven.
