i caught a wind that SK's D-coordinator, Herbst, might be interested.
He would be a good get, IMO.

What school is in Ft. Wright? Now I'm really confused! It's the one right by the one that's in Ft Wright. -
If not for a few uncharacteristic turnovers in the last game, HHS could have easily won by 4 TD's. That being said, I think HHS underestimated CCH's offensive fire power. Some adjustments will be made on D and HHS will be much better equiped to handle Gabe Gray this week, IMO. Highlands D got noticeably better as the season went on I thought. I think this could be a very close game for the first half with HHS scoring some late TD's to pull away towards the end. Weinrich is very good at making adjustments, especially if given a half a season to think about it, and the Birds will be better prepared to stop the run this time.

Dixie just needs to start over fresh with a new staff. The old staff did a VERY poor job managing a wealth of talent over the years..............nobody does less with more better than the Red Colonels.
-
He is a nice HS back. Good speed. Great balance and a tough kid. That being said, I would take Elliot over him all day and twice on Sunday. I'd probably take Vocke over him also. I gotta say I did expect a little more power out of him though.

Keeping the "Machine" greased and rolling the way HHS does is just as hard as building a program and probably more pressure. The players and coaches at HHS "Test themselves" and "Take on Challenges" moreso than any other team in NKY. Not sure where you're going with that. That's fine. However, if there are qualified candidates that do not apply then I don't want to hear any more about "testing yourself" or "taking on challenges" or whatever other cliches some Birds fans like to throw out when talking about their program.Again, I am not criticizing the coaches. If they love their gig God bless them. Fans just can't have it both ways.

I was actually thinking that same name myself, but I wasn't sure if he was a full time teacher as well or not. I'm sure Dixie wouldn't hire a Para-professional for this job, and wasn't sure of Siple's teaching status. You are absolutely right though, if he wants it and they don't hire him, they are not looking to win.I am going to say the leading candidate for this job that nobody has mentioned is Kevin Siple. If Siple would be offered it I think he takes it and if Siple applies for it I think Dixie takes him. JMO -
You don't fool me Birdfan. I know why you want Mr. Barth to stay put!Personally, I hope Coach Barth remains at Walton-Verona to continue building on the fine program he has helped to develop there. I feel confident that he will do so. -
What about a young up and comer like Coach Barth from Walton-Verona? I think it would be a drastic change in style from what Dixie has become acustomed too, but could be a good change for them. I think their program needs some new blood.

It would be for some that don't the HHS theory on blowout games, but it will be a moot point, IMO. JJ can run for 300+ yards and it won't matter. Highlands offense won't be stopped by JC, even if it were to become an offensive showdown. It won't though.Doubt it. Would it be a problem if he did? -
This guy was UNBELIEVABLE back in the day. Was 6'1" and 215 lbs. Ran with power and speed. Just got his National Championship ring from ND in a ceremony honoring their 66 National Champs team. He was a freshman then and frosh couldn't play or travel with the team. BTW, he is actually an INTERNATIONALLY known Zoning and Planning attorney traveling abroad often and lecturing and consulting. Went to UK law school after a brief stint as a NY Giant. Interesting fellow to say the least.Nobody mentioned him, so I will.Ed Ziegler, NewCath '66. Rushed for 1500 yards in 10 games while playing in the GCL when Bacon and Purcell were still in the south and very, very good. (Think about that, 150 yds/game playing 7 GCL opponents.) Signed w/ the defending National Champion Fighting Irish. Two year starter. Now a nationally recognized Evironmental Law professor and writer in Denver.

So you are saying Dale might serve some "Humble Pie" if given the oppurtunity to do so?What? From everything I'm hearing their opponent doesn't take the foot off the gas during blowouts. And no one seems to have a problem with that. Why should Highlands back off? -
This might get fun this week. I'm sure there is no great friendship between these two schools and coaches to prevent them from really laying on one another if given a chance.
-
Congrats JJ. Now...............welcome to the end of the road......AKA...The Bird Dome!
-
Probably just ensuring he cannot come back and play another football game for Dixie, if by chance the Sun falls out of the sky and Dixie were to make a title run. Sounds like Spritz has finally gotten enough of the Shenanigans of his QB.:confused:How can that be. Is basketball included there? -
Things just get better and better for the Red Colonels! Jeez.........They need to just end this nightmare season already.

Dang Sweep, I'm surprised you can't hear the sarcasm coming from my keyboard with this post.......lol!Stop it Cricket!!!!!!!!!! You and I both understand what Highlands is all about, its about Tradition. You know that better facilities wouldnt help them win more or beat teams by more points.I guess new state of the art facilities would stop all of the crying and complaining on here about Highlands facilities and using them as an opportunity to take shots at Highlands instead of taking care of their own business on the field. LOL
I vote no on any upgrades or improvements. Its our 12 th man and it seems to be working.......
-
It's a shame that HHS has such terrible facilities. They could probably win more games with a little better facilities. Alas, a fear that is not in the cards anytime soon in such a poor school district.

Coach Warner and his staff need to be seriously evaluated after some of the decisions made about this game in particular. Ryle players and fans deserve better than what they got out of their coaching staff tonight. My god have a little PRIDE!
-
I say let him sit in a meaningless game, but he is cleared for takeoff tommorrow against Ryle. I'm sure he would like to avenge one of his only losses as a starter, but I would rather have him ready to go for playoffs. What say the rest of you?
-
HHS will roll in this one IMO. Mcoy will start and throw for 2 TD's and run for another 2 is my prediction. Teams have an idea what PT will do, but Mcoy is the wild card here.

He really was "Mr. Bellevue". He was truely a Tiger at heart and loved BHS football like no other, including former players. I remember watching him walk into practice with his cowboy boots and JR Ewing cowboy hat. Awesome stuff. He is truely someone that binded together many BHS players and fans for decades. I'm sure he is representing Tiger Nation well in Heaven.Jeff James was an awesome guy.....I used to love hearing him sing "Love Me Tender" in the locker after a Bellevue Victory. -
It wasn't on the field, but I always remember the late Great Jeff James from Bellevue threatening to blow up the Bridge separating Bellevue and Dayton if his beloved Tigers didn't win. Classic. It was always fun watching him get geeked up twice a year. It was like Christmas to him.
