  1. 77 points is kind of high for a regional tournament game....I thought Trame was a defensive man... They should of won 20 games. They have 4 seniors and a junior who were the main players last year....not taking anything away from Coach Trame but personally I do not believe he got the most out of each player.
  2. Potential...he may have and only time and a job can tell...however...you're saying if you got a chance to hire Scott Hundley (Mr. Basketball and Division 1 player at Vandy.) and has been asst. under Billy Hicks and Keith Griesser, you would take Utter...? and if Utter was the obvious choice they wouldn't of opened up the job, please do not insult the AD and Principals intelligence...it would be naive to not open it up..considering some of the names that have shown interest in the job..including Steve Wright (State Title...Numerous trips to Rupp, Several Regional Titles...) If Utter is the best Candidate he should get it.What bluecollar wrote about him being a hard worker about the job is good but coaching is more than just that. If the AD feels he can bring alot more to the table then hire him. I just want the ABSOLUTE BEST for this job. The Braves, Fans, and Parents deserve nothing less!!!!
  3. Whats humorous??? I don't get it...
  4. Kudos to both teams for making it thus far!!!! Good luck to GC
  5. Gallatin wants revenge....what better way than to end WV's season??? GC by 5
  6. I have known Mr. Kinmon for a long time and have the upmost respect for the man...plain and simple,he is 100% about winning and he knows his basketball, not just the x's and o's but he gets to the players mindset and i strongly believe he would make a great HC...but like i said before, Grant co does not like people that speak their mind, Mr. Kinmon is one who does often.
  7. Well that is a shame....it is an unfortunate policy that may prevent quality coaches to get the job.
  8. Well personally....after watching the Braves this season I would probably be voicing my opinion as well. Grant Co is bad about not wanting people to speak their mind. Once someone does...they're looked down upon and people take it as "complaining" to make it seem bad that someone has voiced their opinon.....
  9. There has been numerous people that said to be a varsity coach in Grant Co. you must work for the school district....how is this so when the Girsl Softball coach does not, Boys soccer coach does not...girls golf coach does not....
  10. Notice i said SK plays tough defense...defense which none of the 32nd district teams like. If they're mediocre on defense...i guess they're offense is spectacular because they drilled WV the first two times they played...
  11. I don't know much about Joe Utter...what chance does he have to keep the job????
  12. That is an impressive resume. On a side note....its always good to bring someone who has no ties to the program except that he played against Grant Co in his high school career.
  13. please expand the thought....
  14. I think WV is more talented, however, Steiner(?) just does an excellent job at defending which gives WV and every other team in the district a very tough time. Player to player and the matchups...well i have to say looking at them, WV is better. IMO I think it came to a coaching battle...
  15. Did not know that. I'm sure he has it made in Gallatin then. Hard to compete with that.
  16. To me, it was clear that WV has the better talent but SK did an excellent job in knowing WV offensive gameplan. SK was where they needed to be on every defensive play and didnt let Sullivan get hot early on. SK players...like 45, I thought did a fantastic job in knowing his role. Good luck to both teams in the region.
  17. Has Jon Jones told you this specifically???
  18. is that a policy that is just for the school district? or all schools in the state??
  19. More than likely he won't come back to the Northern Ky area...like i said though....you never know. Steve's cousin, Kevin Wright, was startin PG for that '79 team that won the Region. Kevin still lives around the Grant County area. Grant County likes to hire its coaches that can work for the school district....if that wasn't the case, i would say Kevin would be an excellent choice for Head Coach!!!
  20. Oh my mistake. That said. They are the only two teams in the Region to play them close.
  21. A few coaches that are from around the Grant County area: Jon Jones- which I hear he has taken interest in the job. Steve Simpson and Steve Wright-Coach at South Laurell I have heard rumors that the first two mentioned may pursue it. Doubtful about Coach Wright, but you never know.....
  22. Oldham Co. in the mix??? Are they not the only team to play Shelby, who is clearly the favored team, relatively close in regular season play? please correct me if im wrong.
  23. From what I hear, Grant County will be accepting applicants after season for the Head Coach job at the high school. Anyone know anyone in particular who is interested???
