  1. If Dixie can refrain from turning the ball over as much as they have been lately, AND start tackling better, they can win this game. If the defense doesn't play well then forget it.

Thanks for some info on Dixie. Holmes' D has good fundamentals I was really impressed with their games against Franklin and Llyod. Their DE's are smart and stay home LB's are big, fast and love to hit. The O is tough to stop if they have a lead like bigmarc said. This is definately a test for the Holmes team, if they can win this I don't see them losing in the regular season. with that being said the coaches will need to channel their attitudes and keep it confident not cocky.

  2. Just my two cents worth but I would expect the middle school program to improve with their new coach and the HS to keep more of their talent once they name a freshman coach. A good hire there would do wonders if they can continue to build on what the middle school is teaching.

No controversey intended, but I wasn't a fan of the former freshman coach from his days at SVMS. There is a difference between tough/aggressive and dirty.

There was controversey intended the minute you typed it. coach R is a good friend and he is not dirty at all. If you think that then you don't know the man. he cared more about those kids more than some of the parents do. You should really think about the comments you make before hand.

  3. Unfortunately Scott has so much trouble stopping the run people don't get the opportunity to see that they have even more trouble stopping the pass.

I know. Bellevue when they did pass had a wide open middle and the corners seemed to get sucked in or they did what they wanted instead of there assignment

  4. The last few years Scott has played Holmes very, very well. I don't expect anything less when they hook up here in a few weeks...

I hope I'm wrong I really do. it'd be nice to see Scott turn there football program into the right direction, but I don't see it happening. Holmes is a different team than years past. Scott is to 1 dimensional on offense and there defense is more of a break don't bend rather than the other way around. Holmes is to fast for the Eagles and I look for the dawgs to beat them by a least 2 TD's. We'll see in a few weeks

  5. Holmes isn't out of the question, they only beat Cooper by a TD today and Scott had contained Cooper for pretty much the whole game. Scott does have a chance at Holmes.

The score of a game has nothing to do with how a team will stack against an opponent. Cooper is a 1 dimensional offense that is tough with a decent defense. They will be in most games. Bellevue has a good offense with suspect D. Holmes has an offense that is hard to key with a D that will smack you in the mouth. Scott has proven the can not stop the run, so guess what there going to see. Scott won't be able to keep up with the speed of Holmes backfield.

  6. Take Holmes out of there and add Lloyd.

I agree. No chance Scott will be able to hang with Holmes. Lloyd maybe Harrison maybe. Scott has got to do more offensively than just Sowder. They showed some signs with passing the ball and went right back to him. The last play of the game may have been the worst. Hand of to the younger Sowder to hit his brother on the back side for barely 10 yards. Bellevue new exactly who to key. Scott didn't quit though and have lost 2 heartbreakers back to back hope those boys can keep there heads up and continue competing

  7. Holmes 3-0 for the first time since 1999 if my memory holds correct... In 01, they lost to Campbell Co in week 2, in 2000 they opened up with a loss to Simon Kenton, and in any year after those to they just never had it going to be 3-0. I know in 1999 they started off 6-0. Congrats, go Bulldogs!

Marc what we start in 02. Was that the first game we lost to Boone
