  1. As lopsided as this game was in the first half, I can't believe Corbin was in position to win. They had all the momentum in the world, just tie the darn thing up and go from there. Wish I could hear the reasoning behind the 2 point attempt. This game exposed some weaknesses for both teams, and both will be better for it come playoff time. Seems to me after Mayfield fell behind, they got motivated and really put it in another gear. Great first half of offense. Second half they came out flat, thinking they would just push Corbin around for 2 more quarters and it didn't happen. Career night for Tyler, great for that young man and to see what next year holds after Trajon graduates

  2. If Mayfield played Newport Catholic's schedule they'd have about the same record every year as Newport Catholic. 5-5, 6-4, 4-6. Mayfield struggled with NCC last year. Mayfield historically hasn't played anybody.

Lame! Sounds like a hater to me.

Guess it all boils down to winning your last game each season and playing in December. No one gives out rings for what your schedule looks like.

Once NCC can beat Beechwood on a year in, year out basis, maybe then you can make your silly argument on Mayfield going 5 and 5 with the Breds schedule.

  3. Interested to see if Corbin can get any pressure on Arnett. The only time he's been pressured is when he keeps the ball too long, likely a time when he should've just done a tuck and run. His speed and ability to scramble has been underutilized this season. I believe he ripped off a long run in this game last year. Guessing Mayfield will represent the home team this year and sit on the Lindsey Wilson side of the field.

  4. I like that PT gave Mayfield's secondary a test ahead of the McCracken game, I don't like that they had so much success. Factor in that you've got a much better QB this week and the Cards D may have fits trying to shut down Jones. Both teams like to go up tempo, Mayfield might be better served to pace the offense, giving their defense an extended break.

  5. Tilghman just looked dazed and confused against McCracken. I really like where they have come in the last couple of weeks, at times, with their offense. Defense had their moments last night too, catching Bright and Tyler at the line for a take-down. I'm gonna say it's 1A and 1B when it comes to that 3A district race

  6. It just seems that we could get something worked out with one of the Tennessee teams TP mentioned. If not, maybe we can try to dip back into the Evansville well. That is something that has been available in the past. The bowl game Mayfield and Graves Co formerly co hosted was always good to bring teams from outside the region until it folded.

Mayfield 50 to 0 over Marshall.
