I'm not shocked because you picked him, just shocked you picked him so early. I doubt anyone was going to pick him soon, and he'd be a good 2nd QB but not a first choice QB. He is suspended 6 games so unless you get another good QB to help you through those 6 games at least, then it may not matter because you may not be around after this year. Just saying a 4th pick on a QB who is suspended almost half the season doesn't happen all the time.

I'm satisfied with all of my picks thus far. I picked Gates because the TE production really drops off after the top 4 or 5 and although there are some sleeper TE's that could produce I pick Gates because without LT and Jackson his numbers should increase. We shall see how it plays out though.

Dorton Street Sweepers and the Paducah Rabbit Fists have reached a trade agreement that will exchange draft picks. It is a tentative agreement which has not been made official through the league website but I think it would be okay if I went ahead and picked a player. Actually Escobar was never a "Braves type of player" do some research on it and you'll see. He was benched multiple times for his actions on the field. With Bobby as manager you will see players that hustle and give 100% all the time, and that's not Escobar. He was putting up good numbers so they kept him hoping they could change his attitude but it didn't work, so when he numbers took a spiral downwards they figured they could part with him. I liked Escobar but like I said I'm not really upset with the move.

Not so much. Kelly Johnson didn't play just "half a season" with the Braves before they made a move. He actually played 106 games and had a batting average of .224, so to use that analogy is off considering the number of players who switch teams and do better. Just look at Edgar Renteria going from Boston to Atlanta. Now I will say that I did like Escobar as a player and you are correct that at this time last year no one would have even considered this happening but times change and so do players. Escobar wasn't a clubhouse favorite due to his arrogant ways on the field and in the clubhouse. Bobby Cox didn't like him and many players felt like he didn't hustle enough on the basepaths. Also, Escobar while accurate with a lot of throws seemed to be pretty lackadaisical at times and some costed the Braves wins. He has 14 errors thus far while Gonzo only has 11. I'm not saying that Gonzalez is the better player but I do think that it was time for a change and unfortunately he was dealt to Toronto. I hope He gets back on track and has a successful career but he wasn't a Atlanta Braves type of player in the end.

The more I look at this move the more I actually like it for the Braves. I will go into a little more detail here in a bit.

Reyes was a good prospect but couldn't handle it in the majors. Escobar is a great defensive SS but he is batting .238 this year with no homeruns.

For Yunel Escobar and Jo-Jo Reyes. I am still unsure of this trade. I like Escobar and his ability but he has really struggled this year and it seems that his arrogance hasn't gotten any better this year, which has frustrated the Braves organization in the past. If Gonzalez can continue to hit homeruns and play solid defense it'll be a good move for the Braves. Hopefully they'll still add an outfielder to help produce runs in that lineup; Hart, Willingham, doubting Bautista now.
