Red Bird garnered a lengthy segment in ESPN's "The Season" documentary on Kentucky high school basketball back in 2001.
I tried to find a link to their segment online, but to no avail. If I remember correctly, their entire rotation was from the same family. The documentary showed them riding to games in the back of a pick-up truck before frequently dropping 100 points on the opposition. Fascinating stuff.
I hate to hear their enrollment numbers have dipped. It's tough to form a competitive basketball team when you're choosing from a pool of 24 males.

Cozart fails to bunt Schumaker over, then laces a single to left.

Lead off single by Schumaker in the 9th.

My biggest problem with the Reds are that they are an unbelievably boring team. I would just rather have young interesting prospects pitching instead of Cueto,Latos or Bailey and wouldn't care if they gave up 6 runs a game as long as we had an offensive team that could get you 8 any day of he week. That may not get you into the playoffs(or it may), but sure would be nice to see your 8 starters giving you 15+ homers in hitter friendly GABP. 2-1 games or leading the MLB this year with 1-0 games just don't cut it for me.
We've been down that road. Being out of contention isn't any fun, regardless.

Outkast... My goodness.
Twenty One Pilots put on a very good show as well.

Frieri walks Frazier on five pitches. First and second, no outs.
Frieri is terrible.

Big comeback! How far did that HR go?
433 feet. Laser.

That escalated quickly.

Pendleton County-Harrison county is developing into a good basketball rivalry.
Harrison County was much better last year, but normally their inevitable matchup in the first round of the 38th district tournament is an absolute battle.

Reds with 2 hits through 7 innings today. Trailing 1-0.

5 straight series wins for the Redlegs!

Simon: 9-3 2.95 ERA....Reds may very well end up with 3 15 game winners this year. When's the last time that happened?
Red had three 14-game winners last year (Leake, Arroyo, Latos.)
You'd have to go back to 1975 to find the last time they had three 15-game winners:
Jack Billingham 15-10 4.11 ERA
Don Gullett 15-4 2.42 ERA
Gary Nolan 15-9 3.16 ERA
Side note-Don Gullett only started 22 games that year!

It thought McCants published his. He had 38 classes from the African Studies program.
Are you sure it wasn't 38 credit hours? Not saying you're wrong, but most colleges require approximately 127 credit hours to obtain a Bachelor's degree, which can be met by taking 5-6 3-credit classes per semester.
38 3-credit hour classes would mean he took 114 hours of African-American studies classes, leaving practically no time to obtain his "Gen Eds." Doesn't seem feasible to me, even at a highly reputable academic institution like North Carolina.

Any news on what the final was
Lightning delay in the top of the 8th.

Just one walk for Chapman in his two rehab innings, and apparently he hit 101 on the radar gun last night.
As long as he's not flinging the ball to the backstop and his velocity is there, you have to assume giving up these runs is an anomaly. Good to see him pitching again.

I'm not sure how any good could come from this thread.
Given the talent that he had to work with, Coach Simms did a great job at Pendleton County IMO. If he was still the head coach at Pendleton County, he would still be doing a great job.
However, this thread seems to be a lot of unnecessary crying over spilled milk by some folks with an ax to grind, and some other cliches.

Great handles and even better court vision. Glad to see him excelling at the next level.
