My kids have said to me that one of their teammates got a new game or money because their team won a championship. They would then ask me what do I get. Thats's when I pat them on the back and say "Good job, I'm proud of You"
Do you think this made him try any harder or hit the homerun any sooner? I will never forget my boys 1st homers and neither will they. I think the feeling they got watching the ball go over the fence, the cheers from the fans, and the ball in a trophy case was payment enough.
I am wondering how many of you pay your kids for good grades or doing well in sports. I don't do this because I believe in instrinsic reward and self motivation. I would hate to think that my kid was trying harder because I was giving him $5. for each tackle or basket. I hope that he is giving 100% just because he wants to do his best. What's your opinion?
Can you say jumped the shark? I loved Denny and was mad when they killed him off but what's done is done. Izzy and the producers of the show need to let him go.
Most players who don't like to bang aren't usually good rebounders esp if they are only 6' 1". Dustin used to be one of the biggest guys on the floor but it seems that he grew early and now will have to adjust to playing against kids several inches taller esp in the varsity games. I'd say he has the talent to make the adjustment.
Maybe in the 80's, but I still like Cornbread and you could do alot worse than Watkins. Watkins just likes to make sure everyone knows who is in charge. I love the way he blows the whistle and waits that instant for the drama to build and every eye to be on him before he makes the call.
