  1. I know in Jefferson County regular season tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children...I believe that playoffs tickets may go up to $7...I think the KHSAA gives a recommendation as to how much to charge but it is really up to the two teams playing. If a team were to play their games at say Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium they usually charge alittle more to cover the cost of facility rental.
  2. I wish both the Warriors and Coach Boyd the best of luck...This has nothing to do with the punishment that I "feel" they deserve...The AD is as much at fault as anyone and he should be punished as well...My main complaint is in regards to the rule that states "To be eligible to be champion, runner-up, third place or fourth place position of a district, a team shall play all other teams assigned to their district." Neither Western or Atherton have played all the assigned teams in their district. Valley had to cancel a game against J-town and Fairdale had to give up their bye week in order to play their game for the district championship. Why shouldn't the Warriors and Rebels be forced to play their game and have the seeds determined the way they were intended to be deteremined, on the field not with a coin flip in a meeting. Would it have been fair to determine the district championship with a coin flip, No! Better yet Fairdale would have won the district outright had their game not been played because they would have been 4-1 in district play and Valley would've been 3-2 if they had both been given a win and loss like Atherton and Westen were. Why use seeding and not instate a blind draw if we are not going to ensure that our seeds are determined correctly.
  3. Well then where is Bullitt East's advantage...They should just have all district champions play each other in the first round to see who should advance...They are all going to meet anyways right. As far as Western being punished...This is the second time in two seasons that Western has been forced to forfeit games due to playing an ineligible player. Players that coach Boyd knew played for him last season at Shawnee, where he got fired for playing an ineligible player. Home-field advantage meant nothing to the Warriors as they have only played 2 home games this season anyways. Why wouldn't Western keep playing ineligible players they are going to have to forfeit a couple regular-season games and still make the playoffs each season. The forfeiting of games is just the KHSAA slapping the Warriors on the wrist.
  4. Actually I am not advocating for any I just believe that it is a ridiculous decision by the KHSAA...In essence you could have two district champions Bullitt East and Western having to play in the first round. Western was forced to forfeit two district game and then never made up a game with Atherton and is being rewarded with a playoff appearence. My question is when is the KHSAA going to step up and punish teams for breaking the rules. No Breckinridge County doesn't necessarily deserve a playoff spot. They haven't won a game, other than forfeits, since late in 2005. Atherton who won only one district games does deserve a spot however should be forced to play Western to determine position rather than flip a coin for a shot at the 3 seed. This is already a very tough district as is and this is going to make things even crazier. As far as someone being victimized it would possibly be Bullitt East who's reward for finishing their district schedule undefeated could be playing Western who would be the district champion in the other district if not for forfeits. That is a Western team that really would finish the season with an 8-2 record.
  5. I have been informed that they are not using the point tie-break system that is in place because the KHSAA only uses that system to break a 3-way tie...Since this is a two-way tie and they cannot use the traditional method of playing head-to-head they have gone to the only other tie break method in the book, a coin flip. I don't care if Wyman is taking the fall Coach Boyd knew the players played for him at Shawnee and should know the procedures that must be followed in order for a player to play. Therefore I fell as if the Warriors should be excluded from the playoffs for a second straight offense. When is this state going to punish people for not following rules? Highlands and Hopkinsville have both played ineligible players on thier way to the state championship game and were still allowed to play. What message does that send to the programs around the state that follow the rules. I was once told the good guy never wins and apparently it is true.
  6. David Carter from Fairdale has to be in the consideration...All who have played against him will admit that he is a man among boys on the field...He is likely going low D1 and will make a great collegiate football player.
  7. What happened to the original method of using the KHSAA point tiebreak system...I think this puts Bullitt East and North Bullitt in a very awkward situation. I mean what is this "Friday Night Lights"? Are we seriously going to use a coin flip to determine playoff position. Man if that is the case the Fairdale-Valley game should've never been made up...I know it would've made alot of people happy to have not played a Halloween night game. If that would've happened would they have had a coin flip for 1st in the district. I'm sorry but I think that is ridiculous. I know Western would win but the game should have to be played or neither team should make the playoffs. The KHSAA football tournament manual strictly states that "To be eligible to be champion, runner-up, third place or fourth place position of a district, a team shall play all other teams assigned to their district." Both teams should have to cancel their games this week to play and determine the positions. Once again certain schools are being given special privilages. This is one move that I am totally against. This will put one of the Bullitt schools at a major disadvantage as far as having to play Western in the first round and the other gets a cupcake game against Atherton. What has happened to football in the state of Kentucky? I guess this is why we are a basketball state. They wouldn't let something like this fly on the hardwood.
