I think it is more Hays right, Hays left, Hays up the middle.
 Next year it will probably be Rowe right, Rowe left and Rowe up the middle. We'll see. The offensive unit will sorely miss Hayes who is a bull when carrying the ball. He runs downhill and doesn't stop until somebody or some bodies stop him. An arm tackle won't do much to slow him.

Wishbone? Eye? Double Wing?
They generally run out of the power "I"...but as most teams, they have different offensive schemes.

You guys and your lovefest mind if we get back to the game.:lol:What kind of Offense does Rockcastle run?
Thanks to you too doc! Generally, Ram has it nailed down. Rock runs till it's stopped. Their defense is the lynchpin of the team. Until the Whitley County game they were one of the top teams in the state about stopping the run. This is even after playing against and losing to Bell. Whitley broke a few plays and I don't know where they (Rockcastle defense) stand now. Whitley had at least four players that ran a sub 4.7 40 yard dash from what I understood. They were very good and we all know that speed kills.

Agreed. I've been very impressed with the effort of the Garrard kids all season. Even when a couple games have been out of hand, they've played like it was the important game of their lives. So much credit goes to the coaches for that!:thumb:
I've said it before....you all have a quality coach in Mark Scenters. Stick with him and you'll see some wins to go along with those improving attitudes of the players. The eighth grade team he will be inheriting next year is big and tough. I've seen them play and if you will give the coach a bit of time, (2 or 3 years) and plenty of support you will start seeing the wins. Good luck at Breathitt County. :thumb:

papagrit, you are a class act and a true fan! Not just a Rockcastle fan but a fan of football and the young men who play the game (no matter where they play) and I for one just want to say I appreciate the dedication and support you have for the Rockets and the impressive way you show respect to everyone with your posts! :thumb:
Well, thanks House! Good Luck to you and the MC team this Friday, I'll make sure to take the laptop with me to see how you all are doing. Hope all goes well and all are healed up. :thumb:

I do know this...if Greenup County wins...it won't be because Rockcastle overlooked them. The excellent coaching staff at Rock would never allow that. I'm sure that Greenup has had Rock's full and undivided attention since the playoffs were set a little over two weeks ago. This game will be taken as seriously as if it were a close rivalry game because it is one and done. The seniors are chomping at the bit, and the practices have been intense according several players. It will be an interesting game...best wishes to Greenup and GOOD LUCK ROCK!!

YES....YOU TOO CAN OWN THE FAT REF ABDOMINASIZER FOR SEVEN LOW LOW PAYMENTS OF 9.95 APIECE...THAT'S RIGHT, BUT LISTEN...THERE'S MORE!! WE'LL ALSO THROW IN A PAIR OF AIR CONDITIONED ZEBRA STRIPED THONG UNDERWEAR FOR THOSE HOT AUGUST FRIDAY NIGHTS WHEN YOUR PUTTER FEELS LIKE IT'S ABOUT TO SPUTTER...GUARANTEED TO PUT A PUCKER ON YOU LIPS LIKE THIS WHEN YOU BEND OVER TO SPOT THE BALL!! BUT ACT FAST BECAUSE THESE PUPPIES ARE GOING LIKE HOTCAKES!!

Someone on here suggested one time...and I think it might have been GCHS but not certain about it....that they allow only three teams to go to the playoffs from each district. This makes sense to me as it allows the first place team to get a bye week as a reward for winning district and an 0-fer team doesn't slip by because their district only has four teams in it.

In the last two games of the season, the Rock split with two very good teams. They clamped down defensively on Mercer County and squeaked out a 10-6 win over them. They slipped a bit on defense against Whitley County, but the offense stepped up and stayed score for score until 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Whitley scored on the homerun ball and broken defensive plays against Rock. Quarterback keeper cutback against the grain went 79 yards....Bomb pass on third down and long to get in the red zone...etc. Rockcastle drove the ball 21 plays and ate 11 minutes off the clock on one drive in the second quarter. They drove hard and clicked off 3 or 4 yards in a cloud of dust (or mud). Whitley finally got the upper hand with the stop and ten minutes to go and them scoring to go ahead by two touchdowns with three minutes left. We're proud of the boys and I'll put my money on the Rock versus Greenup...but who knows. We'll find out in a few days. ROCK ON!

The big Thacker boy is a manchild inside and is also a good kid. Many of the players, including Thacker are still playing football. The Rockcastle basketball team won't be completely intact until football season is over, so we really haven't gotten a good look at them.

I think Highlands only has 1 1/2 school buses and a couple of vans.
I thought that picture in the background was the Superfriends "Hall of Justice"...I was going to say, "No wonder Highlands keeps winning...they got the Superfriends loaded up on that bus and on their side!!"

Good Luck to McCreary when you go up against Boyd. Hope all goes well for your boys and they get healthy for the game.
-
Our boys must have rolled over for that spanking...Congrats to Boyle on the win.

Whitley County has a nice defense too, Look for fireworks.
I will say this for Whitley...the last time I saw Rockcastle play against them was a seventh grade game a few years back. There was 42 kids who popped out of that hedge row for pre-game stretches down at the Middle School field for a seventh grade game. :scared: No sixth or eighth graders (as far as we knew at the time)....42 seventh graders. When you get 42 kids from one grade to turn out for a game, there ought to be some options on who gets to play. They really turn out for football down there.

clarifying
It depends on which team they are playing...mostly the "I"
Two back set not three.
