The freshmen play against Clark County next Thursday November 6th and the JV team plays for the championship of their conference against Boyle County this Monday the 3rd. That will be each team's finale.

I do know that Rock canceled on Corbin's Freshemen a couple of weeks ago.
The reason for the cancellation between Corbin and Rockcastle was because of the varsity game between Rockcastle and McCreary being moved to the Thursday that Corbin vs. Rock freshman game was scheduled. They were going to do some electrical work at McCreary and they moved the game up to Thursday to accomodate the contractors at McCreary. I was looking forward to that game as well. Is Corbin's freshmen team still undefeated?

Congratulations to Coach Scenters and his boys!:banana::banana:

Congrats Boys!!! :thumb: Nice win at home! Get that offense pumping along with that awesome defense and you may go deep in the playoffs. Tall order next week with Whitley in Williamsburg. Enjoy it tonight because tommorow the focus changes toward the Colonels. #31 played a super game defensively with that critical late pick. :dancingpa

I think that with Watts and Roark healthy, McCreary could have a chance to beat Boyd with a good game. That is from seeing McCreary firsthand with Watts healthy and Roark in fair shape but not at full strength.

By the way...when people say that the good record is because of the easy line up season, point out that your one loss (Estill County) was to a team that just put an "L" on Harlan County which will be 5A in a couple of years. Harlan County is no slouch by any means and Estill County was exceptionally tough this year by anybody's standards. Keep your heads up, because right now, your turning other people's heads.

Congrats to you all at Berea! I've heard very positive things about the football coach at Berea and how he not only coaches on the field, but in the classroom as well. Ball players are front and center in classes and are expected to be a notch above the rest of the school when it comes to respecting teachers and completing assignments. You need to hold on to that coach, Berea AD. I'm so glad to see that school get it's act together in some of its sports as it has recently. Even the baseball team with Coach Smallwood looked a step quicker than normal this year with a winning season using several eighth graders and freshmen to get their wins. I sat and watched them play a game this year for the first time in long time and I was impressed with the attitudes of the players. Good luck in all of your sports Berea, but especially good luck in football. :thumb: :banana::banana:

:thumb: Congrats to Greenup. I believe that this matches Rockcastle with Greenup in the first round of the playoffs at Greenup. Looking forward to the game and we'll see you then!

It sounds like a close game. How did the K.C. freshman look? Did the kids that start varsity for K.C. play?
I'm not sure about KC playing varsity starters. I just know that Rockcastle did not.

Rockcastle wins at "The Rock" and are still undefeated. This was without a freshman lineman who broke his leg at varsity practice today and another lineman who plays varsity and wasn't allowed to play. The running back looked pretty impressive for Rockcastle and if this group of boys stick together, the future looks pretty bright. :thumb:

Rock and Knox Central mix it up at the Rock. The Rock freshman team has yet to be beaten, and that has been without a few players that play up. Go get 'em boys!

So, after this game we can get seriously into our playoff discussions?
Me and Papagrit are getting a little antsy.
You said it!....We finished our district play more than two weeks ago and still have two very tough games left against Mercer and Whitley before playoffs. We're ready to roll on this end with the playoffs.

I threw a vote Southern's way because you've got to stand by blood. Two little cousins are freshmen on the team and I gotta back 'em. Come on Southern and dig deep for a little bit of pride and win you one.

Final Score. A good win for the JV team. They are getting better all the time. Rock freshmen are still unbeaten. :thumb:

Good luck McCreary, House of Pain and Bronco. We hope the best for your team and hope all get out and back home from Log Mtn. healthy and safely. I will be a bit more tactful and just say that I feel Bell will win. I hope your kids stay healthy for the playoffs after the season is over.

Like Mom said, Raceland, Russell, and Greenup County are all in Greenup County. Ashland, Fairview, Rose Hill, and Boyd County are all in Boyd County. Carter County has East Carter and West Carter. Lawrence County only has Lawerence County, and Lewis County only has Lewis County.
Thanks Ram...you answered another question that I didn't know...I never knew where Fairview was located. I thought it was located up around Maysville somewhere. I knew that Berea used to be in a district with them a few years back.
The reason for the interest in that area up there is the fact that Rockcastle, who finished third in their district, will be playing the second place team in the Rowan, Greenup, Lawrence, Boyd district. Poor McCreary is going to have one heck of a drive (four and half hours from there to Boyd I think? Less for the closer teams.) to play the number one team. It'll be two and half hours drive plus for Rockcastle. And I have to get back home to work that Saturday...which stinks. Anyway, it will be fun to see Rockcastle play against some of the cousins at Greenup High if it works out that way. Family bragging rights are important!

:thumb: Thanks Mom55, I was thinking that there was maybe one more school as well.

IMO, Rock will play smashmouth football and the defense will put the clamps on Whitley's offense. Low scoring game with Rock winning 17-14. Get on with it Rock!....Regular season record will be 8-2 before going to Greenup to face the mighty Musketeers.
