It works for post game though...
Thunderstruck is the way to go for pre-game!
Couldn't agree more!!

Lone Oak by a bunch; the mugging at Green last week may actually pay big dividends for the Purple Flash in the future. I bet the Green game will provide focus and motivation for the rest of the season for LO.
LO 42 - 6

Fort Campbell wins big - 42 -7 Dont give up on the falcons yet - they have played a very tough schedule so far. I think they will be getting their star player back here soon - dont think he has palyed all year due to a knee injury.
There may be something to that; very, very soon. All in due time.

I am glad FC and Trigg are back in the same district again, never should have been separated.

Good week for the Colonels to get themselves healthy, followed by a bye week to even further heal up. Big games coming up against Oakland, TN and Boyle County. It is hard to say which one of these two teams will be the greater challenge. Oakland, TN at home and Boyle on the road is a very, very, very challenging way to end the regular season.

Watch out for O-Cath, quietly sneeking in at #3.
They must not have any fans left on BGP or everybody would be hearing more about them.

This game is the tipping point in the season for FC. Should FC lose this one, the players need to line up Saturday morning for equipment turn-in. We can skip baketball season (FC is not a b-ball mecca) and start track practice on October 11 and prepare to defend the back to back state track and field titles.
Seriously, FC is going to come out Friday and get it done! 35 - 0 FC

Monroe taking one on the chin from Franklin-Simpson is a bad bad loss. Is this game an anomaly or is Monroe just a pretender?
Monroe County is not a pretender by any stretch. They have been in the semi-final two years in a row and have only one loss this year. They have proven that they are not a pretender.
Two years ago Franklin-Simpson spoiled a perfect season for Fort Campbell. Did it mean Franklin-Simpson was better then FC or that FC was a pretender, NO! The same can be said with Monroe County and a loss on the road to Franklin-Simpson. Monroe is probably going to be refocused after this loss.

How the heck did Hopkinsville beat Paducah Tilghman?
That was the first game of the year, PT probably wasn't prepared. If they played now, PT would easily win. PT could go undefeated the rest of the season and through the state title game.

Murray plays one of the weakest schedules in any classification, their record is better then reality. The team to watch out for is Owensboro Catholic; they have one loss (5A Owensboro) and believe me the Aces are tough in the playoffs.
-
Congrats Eagles !!
-
Great job by the Colonels ! I thought Owensboro may take this one with Christian County's QB, Hickey, being banged up.
-
Watched the IHigh webcast of this game and Lone Oak literally had this game stolen from them by the clock operator. 4th and goal and the clock stops until Green co comes to the line and scores with 2 seconds left. Clock was stopped for over 10 seconds waiting for Green to line up. I am NO Lone Oak fan' date=' but this is pathetic. :madman:[/quote']
Not really surprised by the shady business coming out of Green; have heard other issues coming out of there before.
However, there is no reason LO should have let themselves get into that situation. They should have dominated from start to finish.

I haven't heard any updates on Hickey, but it has to be very concerning. Yesterday's paper said maybe Achilles or ankle sprain. Considering the fact he is also a Mr. Basketball candidate, I hope there is nothing seriously wrong!
I agree, maybe they are just being extra cautious with him. If the Colonels can stay healthy, I think they have a good chance of making a lot of noise in the playoffs.
-
My fault then, I don't remember them. But, me personally, I think 2A is one the most competitive classes in the state, along with 1A and 4A. Those are my favorite classes to keep track of.
I agree with you those are my favorite classes also.

Wow, both Fulton teams should have combined into one team last Friday and taken their collective thrashing together and got it over with.
Mayfield by a bunch, probably more challenged in their own practices then in this game.
-
I am going with Christian County, but a lot depends on the health of their QB, Hickey. I heard this afternoon that he has a lower leg / ankle injury and is questionable for this game. Even if he goes, he could be very liimited.
-
I am also curious why Washington is getting no love? I feel that this the sleeper team in 2a. Is it that the other top 10 are that good? Is Monroe deserving of their #2 with who they have played so far? Is Danville and Glasgow really deserving of their top 10 ranking? And then what about Owensboro Catholic?????
Brother, do not take O Cath lightly, their only loss is to Owensboro which is ranked #5 in 5A. As it stands right now, I would say Monroe & O Cath in the West and the 'Breds in the East. The 'Breds are going to be tough for anybody to play in 2A.
-
I think Monroe County will keep their winning streak going. Good Luck MC Falcons!
-
I believe the Flash will win this one easily. Lone Oak already made a long bus trip and easily handled Lexington Catholic. Green County is no Lex Cath; I look for the Flash to make this long bus ride and win by at least 2 TDs.
-
If there was a year to advance out of the west, this is it for Monroe County.
I agree this is the chance for Monroe County it is theirs to take, probably won't be this way next year. FC is honestly just not going to get it done this year & Murray has a schedule stacked with a lot of inferior teams - probably not as good as their record. I would personally watch out for those Aces from Owensboro Catholic. OC is cruising under the radar and are normally a handful in the playoffs. I would be for Monroe should they meet up with OC.

I have tried to explain this feeling to countless young men over the years. It is definitely one of those things you don't appreciate until it is gone. I played in college at Division II school, and I cherish the experience, but nothing compares to the feeling you get running on to the field on a Friday evening in the fall playing with your friends and classmates. The bonds we made still last all these years later!
I again will borrow and modify a quote from Lou Holtz. If you played on Friday nights, no explanation is necessary, if you didn't no explanation will suffice!
I too get choked up everytime I see the Boys of Fall video.
I realized that I am still part of the song however, I used to be one of the boys of fall, now I am just an old man who thinks he knows it all!
That is exactly how I feel !!

Nice picture of "Sweetness", never any finer than #34.
Hope you have a good time at the game. Fryar Stadium is half football stadium and half construction zone. They have been working on resurfacing the track for the better part of 3 weeks, progressing at a snails pace.
