  1. Please...scrimmages are glorified practice. Sure, game type situation, but so in preseason in the NFL. Preseason doesn't count nor does it mean anything in regards to the finished product. Coaches have to use scrimmages wisely....good luck to Rowan and Bath...

Let hear more about the teams and players....

What are their strengths and weaknesses?

The Rowan County team is pretty young, most of the players are freshmen and sophmores and all of the players are learning a new system under a new head coach. Right now they only have just over 40 players on the team. I think that three freshman did see playing time and will likely see more based on their performance in the varsity arena. I think we see will improvements as the season progresses.

They made some good ajustments after 2 quarters of play to come out and score a TD and conversion, while the defense held Bath scoreless in the third and last quarter.

Their first game on Friday will be at Morgan County where we should see them improving now that the coaching staff has seen them play in a game situation and can make appropiate ajustments in their play.

  2. Rowan County has a new coaching staff this year led by head coach ShaDon Brown. Coach Brown is very enthusiastic about turn the program around and if his work ethic has anything to do with it, the program will improve. He is changing both the offense and defense from what we have seen in the past couple of years. The players will not say much about how they are looking except that we will have to come out to see what they can do on game day.

They have a scrimmage scheduled with Bath County on 8/23 at 8:30pm which should let us get a look at some of their stuff.

Can't hardly wait to see them in action.
