Everything I hear is that it will be an internal hire. WKYT annouced tonight that the press conference is scheduled for 10:00am Monday.

There will be a press conference Monday to annouce the new head coach.

Rumor has it the Kyle Singleton, current assistant head coach, will take over as the head coach.

Shadon Brown is leaving Rowan County to become the DB coach at Wofford College.

Here is Rowan County's schedule. They have a scrimmage scheduled before the season with Boyle County.

Looking at the BGP/KHSAA/Riherds Scoreboard, Rowan County's schedule has them playing at Boyd County on Oct. 7 and playing Greenup County at home on Sep. 30. On the same site, Boyd only has 2 games scheduled and Ashland 3 with no indication of when Ashland and Boyd plays.

Oldrambler, thanks may be in order. You said in another thread that every time you picked Rowan to lose, they won. I guess we will know Friday night.

Winning a game is always important, but this year for some of us LC fans it's more important that our kids show that last years off the field "issues" was not a representation of who we really are. I was not there and I DON'T CARE who started it or what brought it on. It was not the impression we want to give of our town, our school, our coaches or our kids. They are really great young men! This coaching staff is an excellent group of leaders and they will have our kids ready to play and represent us the way we expect.

Lawrence's Hunter James showed a lot of class after the game with Rowan. He congatulated many of the Rowan players and even came to the Rowan sideline to congatulate my son who had been injured in the game. The folks in Louisa can be proud of him.

Your thoughts on this one. Rowan and MS have had three common opponents this season: Estill County, Lincoln County and Montgomery County. MS lost in all three contests and RC won all three.

IMO Rowan Rolls in this one 49-14.

WHile shooting them at times, I have used a lot of other words to describe them that I can't post on here.

Most modern muzzleloaders have a range of 250 yards. Why not use a flint lock? Wouldn't that be more challenging? Or I will ask the same question to you...why use a compound bow instead or a long bow or recurve? Seems un-fair to use a compound.

A flintlock is a nice way to hunt and can be as reliable as a percussion rifle if the lock is properly tuned. Rain can make it very challenging, trying to keep the flint, frizzen and pan dry. They can very very accurate to and beyond 100 yds.

I also heard that Marshall wants him. Several other D1 schools are showing intrest in him also.

I see the Rowan JV getting a lot of reps in this one.

He gpt into a little frucus during last weeks scrimmage and was ejected. He was serving a one game penalty.

I lisened on the radio and sounds like Morgan has made some improvements, but Rowan's offense misfired several time tonight. Maybe not having Cross messed them up.
