I'm wondering why Foley was being discussed so much for this job.  He's already coaching at the other school in the system. He's completely owned Pulaski County since he's been at Southwestern.  Where is there any advantage in moving across town?  It's the same system, the pay is going to be the same. He's got his staff in place at Southwestern. It's not a given that he can just take them all with him if he changes schools. And why would the Pulaski County school system put themselves through all the trouble of moving a coach and/or staff from one school to the other, then have to go through the whole process again at Southwestern? It just makes no sense that Foley would want the job, or that the school system would entertain the idea of moving him.

A few years ago Pulaski was a better job than SW because of each schools principal.  Not sure if that is still the case but it was just a few years ago.

Yea the Rebels are playing really good now.  54.5% last night and 53.6% shooting for the 2 games.  In most of the losses that Boyle have, they have been shooting under 30% for the games.

Difference in % is due to difference in style.  Steals lead to transition baskets and they are pretty good at that.  Offensively Boyle still really struggles in half court offensive sets.  Not bad from three, but just don't have a good identity in the half court.  But since all of their starters are football players it only stands to reason they would take some time to figure things out.

Clevenger has what most consider a top 15-20 job in the state. That, plus a very young team, administration support, and facilities. The 2024 schedule does them favors also.  I know it’s routine to throw his name into every thread every cycle, but Clevenger isn’t leaving. As he shouldn’t.

Is Somerset a better job than Pulaski?

Why would Foley leave what he's built to move across town. Facilities wise and support wise the programs mirror each other. I'm not sure he makes the jump.

Pulaski used to be a better situation than SW.  Not from central office or parents but from specific in school admin.  In school weights and couple of other things were lagging behind at SW.  Not sure if it's equal now or not.  But it didn't used to be.

  5. EKU has 85% of it's seating on one side.  Wouldn't work.  I really enjoyed the games at Western.  Just the right size.  I actually don't mind Commonwealth or PapaJohns.  I liked them both.  The fairgrounds on the other hand......was a trash heap and I thought it was an embarrassment the last 10 years it was there.

Boyle was already playing up from 3A numbers to 4A. They were very close and may have 4A enrollment now. Don't think they are going anywhere? I think you can only play up one class from your enrollment.

Pretty sure there is no more playing up.  Unless I'm remembering that wrong.  I think they decided back in the spring to stop allowing that.

  7. I personally was worried about CC's size.  I thought they would shorten the field and be able to run the ball better than they did.  I know Boyle's speed in the secondary takes some stuff away but I thought they would do better with their much bigger targets.  Little possession curls and to jump ball type stuff.  I also thought Leen would have to have a pretty big game and Boyle was able to limit him for the most part.  I actually didn't think CC's defense played bad.  They just couldn't get off the field.

Heard on the way home that CC was 0/13 combined on 3rd and 4th downs.  Just couldn't move the chains.
