I find all of these posts interesting! I don't remember one comment about the students who are playing High School Basketball! Good Luck to both Mason Co and St Pat teams.

Parents "bicker" too much! It is always about them and not the players!

Who are the top players in the region??

My daughter is going to sign a D1 letter of intent to play basketball this fall. She played volleyball her entire career and is playing again her senior year. High school volleyball starts in mid July and runs right up to basketball season. There were times I wish she would focus just on basketball because that is her passion though she is a very gifted volleyball player as well. She worked very hard in the off season on her basketball skills and played summer basketball right up through this summer to gain the exposure that she needed for college recruiting and to improve her skills. We were very up front with the volleyball coach and she knew that basketball would come first in July and she was wonderful to work with. My daughter commited to working the best she could on shooting and her strength throughout volleyball. The college coaches were very supportive of her playing two sports and have come to numerous volleyball games to watch her and support her. She was very dedicated to her volleyball team and would not think of quitting volleyball to focus just on basketball. It may not be the recipe that works for everyone, but it has worked well for my daughter.

See above! It is what works for the individual. Great advice above being open with all coaches!

I heard the portion of this tourney that was at Fleming got postponed due to heat index, what will they do now with the bracket and won't it be just as hot Saturday afternoon as it was last night?

I heard today they take their boys basketball seriously in Mason County.

The school board is helping with the funding of the trip but are letting a few teachers go next year as in cutting jobs. :idunno::ohbrother:

I didn't realize that. Perhaps because I just haven't been to a lot of Girl's Senior Night events. But I am pleased to know it happens regularly!

What is the magical date for season games to be played. I heard they had to play on or before sat 2/20/10. If so only 4 more nights to play (If tonight is an option.)! There will be many games canceled and not made up. This will make for many interesting district games.

This game is also like a road game to the Lady Royals. I think they have only played in this gym one other time this season. They don't practice in this gym even when they have a game coming up in it. If the regional tournament is played in this gym it won't be any more of an advantage to them than any of the other teams. :eek:

I would agree gym wise, but they do bring the local crowd.
