Sounds like Catholic is on a bit of a roll themselves. Didn't get to see lots of the game because I was listening to Clay County's, but it looks as though they were pretty convincing in taking care of business.

Have to keep in mind that with Clay County, it's been an uphill battle and the tourney was filled with land mines. The draw was as bad as you could have made it for them. In four days, they've had battles with Corbin, Knox Central, and then a Williamsburg team who played their opener two nights earlier (weather pushed the last part of the first round back a day). They've got a bit of a haul to the Arena too. The drive, going to school, all that, it factors in. I know that at least one of the Clay County kids was playing through a LOT of pain but didn't say anything about it on here because, as a CC fan, why would I? It wasn't Farmer (at least that I know of), but it's tough to be too hard on him. Without him making some big shots in plenty of games, they might not have been playing tonight. He was money at the line late against both Corbin and Knox Central. Some big late 3's too, including one tonight. I do think it's fair to say he could improve defensively, but there's no way you don't play him, IMO. Tonight is Williamsburg's night and they should enjoy it though.

The collision course that these two have been on all season finally comes to a head. I was driving home from work during most of the Station game. Any chance that Dishman plays? Would obviously be a huge boost if so. We've had some posters say that Station's kids and some parents have apparently made it known that they wanted Catholic this season. Now they get them. Gonna be a war.

Feel bad for Clay County, but congratulations to Williamsburg. Clay County was down 19 with around 4:30 to go. They cut that to 6 with 2:00 left. Tip your hat to Williamsburg. They made their shots, they did work on the boards, and they got rattled by the comeback but still stayed composed enough to win by hitting their free throws down the stretch. Lots of other teams would have folded. Hate it as a Clay County fan and hate it for our kids, but that's how it goes sometimes. You can't win them all.

This one is going by pretty quick after listening to the Clay County/Corbin slugfest the other night. More like the 11th region games I'm used to seeing. Tells me how physical that Clay County/Corbin game had to have been. Man, I would have hated to have had a whistle around my neck during that one.

Williamsburg led a bit after 1, maybe around 6. Another slow start for Clay County, but they now trail by 3, 18-15. 2nd Quarter.

Agree. I'm all for kids' parents sending them where they want them to go so long as the kid's best interests are being looked out for. I understand why people would want to send their kids to Catholic-- it's a great school.

I think the "Station's kids" is more "Station feeder, Station middle school", what have you. I'm guessing that the making your presence known at middle school games, that's probably kinda what he was going for. If they want to move, they move. All good. I'm the guy who has been in Cordia's corner. Like you said, lots of kids move or play for different schools. The comment was kind of in jest, but likely has a fair amount of truth to it. Demetrius Green was a Station kid. Jaylen and Seth Beckham. Can't really deny situations like those, IMO.

The game at Station was really close and then got stretched out by a T at the end. Station was also playing with Carson then, and seeing how they've played with and without him on the whole, I don't really know if that was an advantage. I thought he forced a few shots in the game at Station.

I think that if Station wins this one, they are likely going to be your regional champions. Too athletic inside for Catholic and have too many kids who could frustrate Tanner Johnson, and Woodford County shows what may happen when you do that. I think Catholic would have trouble keeping them off the glass and when you can't keep them off the glass, Claitt will have those possessions where he just goes up and plays volleyball with himself before putting one in or its' he and Dishman grabbing a board, hitting an outlet pass, and a layup on the other end that lets them set their pressure. Too big inside for Henry Clay too, at least in terms of kids they can use to keep Claitt and Dishman off the glass. Henry Clay beating them a week ago in districts makes me lean away from them. Maybe if they hadn't beaten Station yet, you could say "maybe they're due", but I don't really know that they beat them twice in a row, especially one night after toppling Catholic, which is what they'd have to do to get there. For many of the same reasons, I think Lafayette might be favored if they went to the Finals as well. I wouldn't call them as firm a favorite as I would Station though. All that said, any outcome that someone could fathom now, it's really not outside the realm of possibility. Tough, balanced region all year and the four Lexington schools all get in the semis.
