JokersWild24 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Final from EKU. Surprised Station got it done without Dishman, at least in this manner.
thepeopleschamp Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I thought that Caldwell really stepped up for them today. He played solid defense rebounded well and made a difference for Station. Lafayette couldn't buy a shot today. I think Gary Ball said they were 1-18 from 3 and 7-18 from the free throw line.

Triple_Threat Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Looks like they're holding kids accountable for their grades! Congrats to Coach Tommy Johnson and his staff for winning and doing it the right way! "Student"-Athlete
Beach Bumm Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 So first its Carson that is sitting out & now Dishman? Whats going on over there? Academics, academics and more academics or should I say lack of being a STUDENT first, then athlete second. I applaud Coach Johnson for doing what he did. Student- athletes are held accountably for their academics. Don't make the grades, you sit..
ball_coach_4 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Love it! Though most coaches are afraid of sitting key players, I believe it makes your team actually better if the key players aren't buying into your standards, or their grades. It gives the bench players more experience and confidence, and if develop the bench and win with them, the key guys have no choice to buy in, b/c they know you don't NEED them to win.

Not sure Carson was EVER academically eligible.
Johnny_Utah Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 This is above the coach, the AD should be making these checks & calls & relaying the info to the coach. It isn't even a coaches decision.

Well there you have it. Like Cats1950 mentioned, Dishman might not be eligible for tonight's games. Unless miraculously some extra credit work is turned in today.
Johnny_Utah Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 So if the one kid was possibly NEVER actually eligible as Cats1950 stated (is a possibility), then there is an entirely different issue. Forfeiture of games that he played in, etc..... probably not the end to this story @ all. Would have to look back @ their schedule & see the games they played with him in the lineup. I know if it impacts what was the District seedings, a certain coach who didn't make the Region will be highly upset, I would be too.......... but that is none of my business. All of this puts the cart in front of the horse though. I would hope that they had been in contact with the KHSAA to verify that it was all legit before putting him out there.
