  1. What I proved was that you made a couple incorrect statements or whatever one might want to call them in your previous post.

What my stats proved was that taking the same amount of shots, they wouldnt out score him by 5-7.

Both of them dont lead him in rebounds either(which you stated)only one of them does(by 1.4) There is not enough difference in any of the three's rebounds to matter, and as I stated before the point guard should be a few assists ahead.

I also agree with Know It All that if they drew Fergusons defender's their numbers would be quite different. They are all three great players, but being a big fan of the Ferguson kid I am just defending him. YOu could have said Faulkners are the stud's of Elliott without dragging Ferguson's name into it and trying to down his play.

All I said in my original post was he forced a lot of shots, if that is downing his play, sorry. JMO

  2. The stud from Elliott is Ferguson.....the Faulkners are nice players.

    Ferguson avgs, 18.9 shots per game(46%) 723pts for 24.9ppg

    Evan shoots 12.0 shots per game(49.5%) 485pts for 16.7ppg

    Ethan shoots 9.6 shots per game(51%) 454pts for 15.7ppg

Give them those extra 7(ev) 9(eth) shots if they could get them with Ferguson's defender on them and assuming they hit 1/2 of them their averages would be about equal. If % were a little less because of better defender average would be a little less.

You have to take into consideration that they probably wouldnt shoot those %'s if they drew the other teams best defender night in and night out like Ferguson does.

When playing top teams like Cov. Cath and Mason, Ferguson(up to this point) has still got his normal numbers no one else on the team has.

    Rebound's- Ethan 6.7 Ferguson 5.3 Evan 4.6

    Assist- Ethan 6.7 Evan 2.5 Ferguson 2.4

Only big difference in assist and rebounds were in assist by Ethan who is as you know the Point Guard, who definately should lead in assist.

Your stats prove my point. Ethan, more rebounds, more assists, over half the points with less than half the shots. Evan's numbers pretty much equal in points and assists, 7 less shots for 8 ppg less avg.

  3. This thread isn't about who forces shots and who doesn't.

It's about who the one or two best players are on your team that if you take them away, would have kept your team from winning the region title so get back on topic.

Open up a different thread if you want to have an Elliot Co debate.

Yes, it is about the one or two best players per team. How silly of me to rebut another post with my opinion of the best players on a certain Sweet 16 team. I guess I miss-understood, I thought this thread was about people stating their opinions on who were the best players on Sweet 16 teams and why.:D

  4. That's the answer expected. Several players had similar or better success against Euton this year. But at the end of the day, Euton has legit offers and is committed to UK and that's really what counts.

Again, best wishes to Euton on a smooth transition.

And that's my point.........You said it yourself. Several, supposed "lesser" players outplayed him on several occassions. Not my words, yours!

  5. Name the offers. Be proud. Since you mentioned Euton struggled against Faulkner, share the offers.

If you would like, I will give you Mr. Faulkners phone number and you are more than welcome to call him. I'm sure he, or his father would be glad to enlighten you. I can tell you that Gardener-Webb, and a couple of Ivy League schools have. Are they as big name as UK? No. Does that change the fact that he more than held his own against a bigger, taller UK recruit?

  6. Euton has scholarship offers and is committed and 5-11 Faulkner does not. What's the real point here?

Well, first I was rebutting another post..However, if you would like me to make a point, I guess it would be that he needs to hit the weights and work on his game. As for offers...........Yes, Faulkner has some. Committed, no.:thumb:

  7. I am sorry but Faulkner did not handle Euton, it was Faulkner, Knipp and whatever Forward was on the side of the paint at the time, and if you believe differently, then you didnt watch the game. Did Faulkner play hard and do the best he could, yes, but absolutely did not handle Euton. The only person that shut Euton down was his Coach.

And apparently someone else didn't see the first game, when a 6' 1" Evan Faulkner, in the 2nd half pushed Mr. Euton around like he was on skates, kept him out of the paint, and pretty much made him a non-factor in the second half. By himself, no doubles, no triples, one on one.:thumb:

  8. So if Ethan or Evan took 17 shots a game they would avg 30 points a game?

Everybody on Elliott Co. forces shots.

Your saying that everyone on the team forces as many shots as Ferguson?? Yes the rest of the players force some shots........All players do. However, Ferguson FORCES as many individually as the other kids on the team take in the offense. As for if the twins shooting it 17 times a game and averaging 30, yeah, they would. And on top of that they would have better assist to turnover margin (while being the primary ball handlers), more rebounds, and don't flop after every three they shoot!

  9. I don't think there is any bidding involved. Mr Euton's place of employment is closing and I understand Dakota eats a lot. Mr Euton already has a job in Lexington and I'm sure the Euton's are perfectly capable of finding the best school for Dakota without any "bidding" inuendo's. Dakota already has a scholarship, so the next two years should just be preparing him for college.

Euton and Jackson will be missed in the 16th but they are leaving for perfectly understandable reasons. They represented Rose Hill well and I know everyone at Rose Hill wishes them nothing but the best.

They were fun to watch for the last few years.

Hopefully they will end up somewhere and get another shot at those Elliot County boys again:thumb:

LOL. Well... First, you cough up the un-confirmed Jackson leaving. And yes, I read the Ashland paper, no news of any lay-offs from local employers. As for Elliott, maybe they just want to go somewhere that is public, plus be on a good team. They would not have got past Elliott next year either!

  10. Freshman or not, someone is going to have to step up and stop him for them to win. And IMO, Timmy Knipp is not able to stop Darius Miller, inside or out. But I think it is inside where Darius has the advantage. Honestly, Darius has an advantage on just about anyone anywhere on the floor.

Well, thats not really what I was getting at. But, since you responded, I would take T. Knipp over Miller in a freshman year match-up, anytime. My thoughts on the game. I don't see Middleton having another career night, I see nerves getting to Setty............I see Elliott dropping long balls. I see a much closer than expected Mason win... If the refs don't get caught up in Billy G. fever, and Miller is off I could easily see EC winning this game.

  11. I was under the impression that the real stud from Elliott was Ferguson.

And a lot of people would argue that consistently Stewart is better then Smart.

The studs from Elliott are the Faulkners....Ferguson is a fine player, but he forces a lot of shots. Give either Faulkner his number of shots, they out average him by 5 to 6 a game. Plus both already out rebound and out assist him.

  12. Ethan Faulkner is probably the top or near the top PG in the tournament. He should be in the top 15.

I'll admit, I haven't seen all the pg's in the 16 play. But....I can't imagine more than 2, tops that have the ability, and more importantly will, to lead a team and play the game the way that Ethan does. He gets overshadowed by Ferguson, another fine player on their team. Bottom line is. If this kid was 6' 4" every college in the country would be on his doorstep!
