Ryle has a very good defensive team. They may play the best defense in the region. Porter is good and so are a couple other Ryle players. Lamping and Helmer for Ryle can play some tough defense.

Ryle played good defense again to keep them in the game. If Ryle can start shooting better they will be a contender. They have some good shooters and just need to get more consistent. Moeller got alot of second chance shots off of missed shots and missed free throws.

I think both players are good. Helmer is much quicker in my opinion. He can also create his own shot and take the ball to the basket. I think they are about equal as far as shooting ability. Mitch is a better point guard than Ahern,his size lets him see the floor. Mitch will build confidence after the Glen Este game as well as Clay Coleman. The sophmores are going to really help this year. In time you might see at least 2 of them starting.

Ryle has played well in all of their games so far this year. Lost the first 2 games by 3 and 4 points late in the game. Lost to Boone in the fourth qtr. by 11 after leading alot of the game. Ryle just needs to finish. Watch out ,the Colonels could get surprised.

What does Grant County have. I saw where someone beat them pretty good. Ryle is due to have a big win.

Maley is definatley better than last year. Still has a ways to go. He needs to create more opportunities for himself and his teamates by being more of a threat offensively. He has a tendancy to give the ball up to quikly. Helmer does get winded ,but sits out too long in my opinion. Ahern is a very good leader, however his size and ability to see the open floor is a cause for concern. He works extremely hard.

Maley is playing like he did last year. Just cant deal with small failures and takes himself out of the game . He hurts the team at this point when he stays in the game. Helmer was hot and could have helped win the game if he gets more minutes. Sat out alot in the 3rd qtr. Ahern struggles because of his size. Start Porter,Coleman,Helmer, Mcliesh, and Russell or Nichols. Maley stats if he earns it in the game . These guys can run and get it done. Lamping is also key off the bench. He makes things happen.

Ryle will improve as the year goes on. Mailey needs to become the leader and play harder and more agressively or he will probably look bad this year. Ahern needs to shoot the ball and penetrate. He doesnt see up the floor well and slows things down. If he starts penetrating and dishing things will improve. Ryle does not attack the basket , alot of passing around the perimeter and not alot of cutting and driving to the basket. Give Mullins a little more time and things will improve one way or another.
