Cincinnati Moeller 51 Ryle 28

Was the game as bad as the score reads, or did Moe just blow it open late in the game?

Moe is the 7th ranked team in the country and only beat Ryle by this much? Overrated. By the way, is Matt Roberts still averaging 1.8 pts a game? I know he got the D-1 scholly and that was the intention of moving to that school but geeez... I think he could have gotten one at Highlands also. Nic Simpson did. He could be averaging a double double at HHS.

Did Moeller get 7 TDs and a safety to Ryle's 4 TDs?:D

Where are they the seventh ranked team in the country? The only national poll I look at is USA Today and they aren't even listed in the midwest regional rankings, but less national poll. I'm not saying you're wrong, just wondering what poll.

And while USA Today may have them underrated, based on no mention at all, any poll that has Moe seventh has them vastly overrated.

As for the Roberts kid, based on what I've heard from people on both sides of the river he got his D-I scholarship playing for a Ky. team, not Moeller.

I hope all of you that call them overrated have seen them play. Moeller, St. X and many of the other GCL schools are never "overrated". They play one of the most difficult schedules in the country year in and year out. I'm not sure if you know how Ohio basketball works but Moeller and St. X played for the D-I state title last year. You are talking about a perennial NATIONAL powerhouse.

Anytime you question the scoring margin past 20+, you are splitting hairs. Many coaches have class, and decide to not run the score up, rather get everyone playing time and work on half court sets. I recently witnessed a game in which one school could have beaten another by 80. What would be the point of that? All I am saying is that when you bash a team that does it year in and year out for a flimsy reason like margin of victory, you just sound like a hater.

Might have been MaxPreps or something but it clearly said Archbishop Moeller in Cincinnati. Your right, he got his looks playing AAU ball and that is why I question the whole move to Moeller in the grand scheme of things. However, that was the intitial thinking of the parents from what I hear around town. He left after 8th grade year when he logged Varsity minutes. In the end, your right, MOeller didnt get him the scholly.

Where is Roberts going?

Who all has offered Simpson?

Is it just me or does Moeller always have like 3 D1 players on their team?

Roberts- Citadel signed? know it was offered

Simpson- North Carolina A&T signed (done deal)

Yes, they have 3 on their team.

I was at the game and Moeller was up by 7 with about 4 minutes left in the 3rd qtr and went on a 19-2 run. Ryle played some good stretches but shot the ball poorly. Had open looks just didn't knock them down. Malley hung in against their big men but Moe had a point guard that Ryle could not defend. He had 12 straight points when Moe made their run.

Ryle played good defense again to keep them in the game. If Ryle can start shooting better they will be a contender. They have some good shooters and just need to get more consistent.

Moeller got alot of second chance shots off of missed shots and missed free throws.
