  1. Looks like a few on here like to kick these programs when they are down.

Amusing when there our some other area schools who have hard times many more occasions than these two schools.

Maybe you should rethink that, I think that Duck was hacking on them as well, and I think that he's a Russell supporter as you seem to be Cubster.

  2. I believe you misunderstand, as cruel as it may seem, if you end up in Hell, make no mistake, it will be you, not God, who sends you there.:fire:

Never said the human race is inferior. However, to be equal to God is how your posts IMO have tried to make our race seem, and it's simply not so.

I've enjoyed the banter, have a great new year!

Don't know how it can be much clearer than that!:thumb:

  3. If you have been to that many games you would see that (other than the top two) the Hill has a too many specialty players. What I mean by that is that some are good ball handlers, some def, some can shoot. Maybe the situation dictates who plays and who doesnt.

Nope, I think it's completely random! Or at least that's the view from here. Of course, Booger and I are working on a gameplan that satisfies everyone.

  4. Maybe you ought to put some of your coaching skills to good use at the High School Level.:thumb:

Great idea. Perhaps I can hire you as an assistant who concentrates on getting our "homegrown" talent to blossom.

Bottom line, you can't IMO have a kid start one game, play 2 minutes the next, and so on and so forth and expect any kind of continuity. I don't care who takes the shots.

  5. I don't see Mason being able to contend with the LexCath inside game. Mason will win it if they can make their outside shots. LexCath needs to play to their strength, Novosel and Taylor on the inside plus Sanford slashing to the basket. Catholic has a better inside game and this combined with the outside shooting of Smart adds up to about a ten point win. The main stumbling block for LexCath as I see it is that this group has not won such an important game to date, hopefully this will be a prelude to bigger things.

You do know that Miller and Setty made the trip home from Hawaii don't you?

  6. LexCath (and I understand it is there tourney) has caked walked to the finals against some questionable competition. Gee LexCath, do you think next year you could set up the tourney so that you could just go play in the finals without having to play a single game? Can we be safe to assume that the draw wasn't done out of a hat....meaning a blind draw?

Mason County if the men in stripes call it fair, wins by 12....

:cry::cry: That mean ole Lex Cath. The nerve of them to load one side of their own tourney.

  7. December has been a tough month on Rose Hill. They played some tough games. A couple of days off may help this team. It's been a tough schedule. They are a good team, with good athletes. Keep your heads up.

I agree. I think I can pinpoint the problem. I have seen the boxscores from the King of the Bluegrass tournament, been to several games including the Garnes tournament and I truly believe that the coach uses the eenie, meenie, minie, mo method of playing time and substitutions. With the exception of 2 players it is anyone's guess as to who is in the game at any given time. If you're looking for the right combination, I get it. I would hope it would be somewhat narrowed down at this stage of the game.

  8. Worse Russell team I have seen ever in any sport. I know Coach Dodd can coach but my goodness they are awful. When you have to play a 7th grader you are in trouble especially when he physically is just not ready in my opinion. Good luck to the Devils and surely to goodness things will improve.

I understand your point, and agree with you, they have no other option. Long year for Russell. Actually, may be long years at Russell.

  9. Actually, what tends to happen, the threads are much larger in the losses simply because the usual suspects from the 16th love to swarm the waters when they smell blood from RH. So the logic that the threads are more "infused" when they win is the polar opposite from the truth.

By the way, I forgot to congratulate the Royals on the victory, good luck tonight.;)

  10. I've watched Rose Hill play a couple of times this season, and I wonder what exactly is their offensive philosophy? I was at the Bath Co. game and I don't think RH had 5 offensive rebounds and there were always 3 guys outside the arc. The funny thing about that is that seldom did those guys shoot the 3. I agree with most of the posters, if they can't get some production out of those other guys then they will struggle to win on a consistent basis with only 2 scorers. I don't particularly understand why the Malloy kid doesn't get more shots, he is a solid shooter from behind the arc from what I've seen. I understand that they lost Fuller, but IMO they have kids that shoot it as well as he did. Of course, this is my opinion only, I have never seen these kids in practice, never been in the locker room with them, I trust that the coach understands them far better than I and I don't want this post to seem like an attack on him in any way.

  11. What I find funny is that even when the purpose of this thread was to defend the Ashland paper, arguments arise between Ashlanders. Wow!

I will say, however, that I don't subscribe because I can read online, but there's obviously some articles that don't make the webpage that are in the actual paper. I don't understand that. Seems it would be easy to simply duplicate the hard copy to an online paper without eliminating anything.
