Congrats to the NKY Wildcats for winning the 9U AAU State Championship...:thumb:
Congrats to the Wildcats. We played them a few times this year. Good coach and good kids.
-
115 is probably Dave Clevenger's math. His calculation would go like this. He has 15 teams paying $100 each = 115 teams. Just kidding! Hopefully it is a good tournament. Good luck Pack!
Who are the teams the U13 team is playing?
Final schedules comes out today. The first game is Friday night at 10:30 against the Jackson MI Grizzlies.
-
Rumor has it there are 115 teams playing at BCI this weekend. The Wolfpack have a 10:30 Friday night game. Yuck! Anyone know who else is playing 13U?
-
I think you will at least have The Ville, Georgetown Thunder, Rising Stars and Hoop Dreams. The Truth Elite should.
What about the Wolfpack?
I do not want to start another D1 vs D2 debate. My guess is right now, the 13U Wolfpack will be playing D2 similar to the other Wolfpack teams.
-
13U Wolfpack had a good weekend at BCI bringing home a championship. They went 1-1 on Saturday (missing some key players) beating Breathitt County and losing to the Cincy All Stars by 2 in OT. On Sunday, they beat Fleming County, NKY Flash and then the All-Stars by 7 in the final. Nate McGovney and Travis Pavy played great games on Sunday. Kudos to the Cincy All-Stars, they are a very talented squad.
The Wolfpack have also added a new guard, Rez, who is very strong. I believe he is from Holmes.
Any word on if there will be enough teams for a seperate D1 13U tourney?
-
Anybody know who might be playing in BCI tourney this weekend? I know its Sweet 16 weekend and tons of NCAA on but the NKY Warriors 13U went ahead and entered. HOpefully they have enough teams. Games for the Warriors are Friday night and 2 on Saturday.
I believe the 13U Wolfpack are playing there also. It will be interesting to see how they matchup against the Warriors.
-
Yes, the Warriors picked up Dishman. The Warriors are loaded again this year. But, so are the Tarheels. This will be a very competitive D1 Tournament.
Who are the favorites for the D2?
In D2, the NKY Wolfpack have to be the favorite. They have 3 strong guards in Geiman, Moeves and McNeil and some good bigs. They are also well coached.
-
The Ville and our neighbor's up north OBC, are heading to Dallas, Texas this weekend to play in the Texas Titans, tournament. With some of the top teams and players in the country playing in their tournament, it should be a real shoot out down in the long star state.
Good luck down there. Show them what KY basketball is all about:thumb:

David Archuleta and Hernandez were great this week. I think Danny and Jason Yeager will be leaving for the guys. I actually fell asleep twice watching the girls last night (the guys are so much better this year). Fortunately, I saw Brooke and Carly who seem to be the best.
-
He is definitely not a point guard, seems they could really use a true point man.
Let's see... He handles the ball well, lightning fast, can beat you off the dribble and makes great passes. I would take him at point for any game.
-
Here are the teams entered so far for next week's 10U state tourney. I was pleasantly surprised to see 6 D1 teams.
D1
F.O.C.U.S.
Northern Ky Rockets
Hoptown Hoyas
Hoop Dreams
Central Ky Crusaders
Lexington Colonels
D2
Mason Co. Knights
Northern Ky Suns
South Central Renegades
Montgomery Trojans
Team Character
Somerset Future 4th
Lexington Heat
Lexington Blaze
Northern Ky Wolfpack
Mercer County Cyclones
Omega All Stars
Lake Cumberland Warriors
What are everyone's predictions for 10U State this weekend.
D1 - FOCUS (runner-up last year) are very strong and have a lot of height for 10 year olds. Rockets are quick and will give them a run. Hoptown (defending champs) and Colonels are very strong also. I have not seen Hoop Dreams or Crusaders.
D2 - From NKY, the Wolfpack are lightning quick and can shoot the lights out. Omega and Suns can make some noise. I have heard that the Montgomery team and Lake Cumberland are strong also. Don't know too much about the others. Anyone know anything about the Lex teams?
What are your thoughts? It should be a good weekend of basketball.

How did the 13 under Ville, do today?
I heard that they beat the Cougars 60-0. I know the Ville are outstanding but I think it shows very little class to shut a team out. The Cougars do not belong in this tourney but it was just terrible to watch (what little that I did).

7th CC Purple play Twenhofel tonight at 6:00 at CCMS for the West finals.
-
Division 1 correct?
Undetermined at this point. I would expect them to play D2 since this is there first year together. The other Wolfpack teams will probably play d2 as well.
-
Yea, I heard they dominated during those years.
Speaking of Christian, is he playing for the Wolfpack 13U? I heard a rumor.
Christian has joined the 13U Wolfpack making it a solid 10 man roster. Now that school ball is over, this team will get to practice some and prepare to make some noise at State.
-
I missed the SV game but I heard the ref called a foul with .03 left. Hard to not let the kids decide the outcome in OT.
CC was up one at that point and McGovney got hit pretty hard. He made both to seal the win by 3.
I take my hat off to the boys from Summit View. Congrats on a very tough season. There are a lot of good ball players on that team that will make a lot of noise in the future.
-
Only answered one of two.. Where?
The games will be played at the locations already scheduled (I know Boys 7th West is at CCMS, 7th East at Sharp).
-
Are the West games still on, and where are they being played?
The 2008 NKYMSBL Tournament will proceed as planned tonight at locations already scheduled.
-
Any word on the West games?
Blessed Sacrament beat Turkeyfoot in the play in game. Woodland beat IHM in a close one. CC Purple beat Blessed by 30.
No CC school today. Talking to the AD last night, if the roads are better this afternoon, the games may still be on. We will wait and see.
-
Changed to Plan D. Games begin on Tuesday 2/19 with girls championship on Fri 2/22 and boys championship on Sat 2/23 at CCMS.
-
Are the games still being played today?????
All NKYMSBL games are cancelled for this week. Tournament will begin on Monday 2/18 with the girls championships on Thursday 2/21 and the boys championships on Friday 2/22.
-
I can't wait, Im guessing Summit View was given the #1 seed? Looks like they have a tougher road than Twenhofel.
Twenhofel is the #1 seed. That is why if the seeds holds, #2 Summit View would play #3 CC Purple.
-
Word is that the 7th CC Purples play at 7:30 tonight against the winner of the play-in game (Blessed Sacrament/IHM I think).
Here is the 7th West schedule. Campbell County Schools are now closed for today so who knows what will change.

Are any NKY teams playing in the Bearcat Classic this weekend?
