Thanks for the update, sorry if I mentioned any wrong names. Has there been a coaching change?
Jim Meiman has been the coach all season with Jim Uebel as the assistant.

It was a rough weekend for the 7th grade Wolfpack. We decided to play up but there were only two 8th grade teams with us (Hornets and Tar Heels). The Tar Heels team has changed a lot since last year. McClendon is very strong along with Hatton. The only other ones I knew were Pulliam and Bleha who are Campbell County 8th graders.
The wolfpack are made up of players from a few teams from last year (as qryche mentioned).
Kings - McGovney & Uebel
Nets - Shelton, Brown, Malott, Kunkel
Pacers - Mays
Raiders - Pavy
The other player is Meiman whose dad Jim is the coach. It will be an exciting team this year expecially when they get some more practices under their belt.

Campbell County 7th purple beat Highlands by 11 tonight (52-41 I believe). It was the best game CC has played yet this year. They were up by as many as 20.
-
So is this an 8th grade event with the Raptors/Hornets, because I was thinking both of these teams were 7th grade teams last year.
It is an 8th grade event with the 7th Wolfpack and Tar Heels playing up.

Yes, this should be a good game, but this may also be the Tar Heels 6th grade group playing up. I had heard they may not field a 7th grade team this year, which I still find hard to believe, but you never know. Either way, this will be better competition for the Wolfpack than school teams and depending on who else is playing in the tournament, the two teams may get a 2nd game in the championship game.
There is a Tar Heels team in both 7th and 8th grade pools. I am assuming that they are 6th and 7th and each playing up.
The Raptors are not playing on Sunday so the winner of the Wolfpack/Hornets will play the Tar Heels at 1:00 on Sunday.

The 7th grade Wolfpack and the Tar Heels play at 5:00 Saturday in Regents gym at NKU. This will showcase some of the best 7th graders in Northern Kentucky. Should be a great game!!
-
Schedule is out for this weekend. It is going to be some great basketball at NKU. It looks like the strong AAU teams are playing up (Wolfpack and Tar Heels) so that should keep the playing field level.
7th grade teams:
2 Highlands teams
St. Mary's
AAU - Flash, Panthers, 6th Tar Heels
8th grade teams:
AAU - 7th Wolfpack, 7th Tar Heels, Hornets, Raptors
-
Where did they play?
The game was at the Crossroads elementary school. There is one other time this year that they play there instead of the middle school.
-
Campbell County purple 7th lost a heartbreaker to Pendleton County by two in OT in their regular season opener. I was told the 6th and 8th grade won convincingly.
-
As they should, its an all star team with kids from all over Kenton/Boone/Campbell Co. They should take their game to Louisville or Lexington and play other AAU teams that are strong around the state. Should be intersting to see if that Wolfpack team steps up and plays Div. 1 instead of Div 2 like they did last season.
Actually, this Wolfpack team did not exist last year for state. They were still seperate as the Kings, Nets and other teams. However, they did make the Sweet 16 in D2 Nationals and have added even more talent. They are very strong. Looking forward to seeing them play the Ville and the Tar Heels.

Is purple usually the better team???
The purple team is the better one in both 7th and 8th grade.
-
Are there gold teams? I know Beau Menefee coached one of the Campbell County 7th or 8th grade teams last year...
Yes, there are both purple and gold in all 3 grades for Campbell County.
-
This is a fun tournament out at NKU, glad to hear the 7th grade teams are coming out. Highlands I hear is entering two teams as well they should.
It will be interesting to see if they seperate the school vs AAU as the 7th grade Wolfpack are in it. If not, it will be like Williamstown and the Pack should run away with it.
-
Is that a former Bluebird coaching the 7th grade? Or is it 8th grade?
The Conways (father and son) coach the 7th and 8th grade purple teams. They are from Mason county I believe.
-
Is there any kids repeating the 7th on the Purple ?:sssh::sssh:
To my knowledge, all of the Campbell County purple are in the 7th for the first time.:thumb:
They are led by a good guard in McGovney with a strong supporting cast. It should be a good season for both 7th and 8th purple teams in Camel Land.
-
I believe it is 3rd through 8th???? I know my sons team is playing in it this weekend and he is in 4th grade. They also played in it last year when he was in 3rd grade...
For the Jazz this weekend, I hear they are short on 8th grade teams. I know there is a full amount of teams for 4th grade and 7th grade. Schedule comes out today.

Here are results from yesterday in Campbell County and Williamstown for 7th graders.
CC - Twenhofel beat CC Purple by 12 in the finals. Summit View beat St Marys in the other game (I think by four).
Williamstown - Pendleton County and Conner had a great double OT game. PC ended up winning by 7. Wolfpack beat Harrison by a good margin. In the finals, Wolfpack beat Pendleton by 20ish.
It was a great weekend for MS basketball.
-
Here is what I know about the 7th graders.
Campbell County - Campbell Purple beat Summit View and Bracken County and battle Twenhofel in the Championship tomorrow. They beat St Marys and CC Gold.
Williamstown - The 7th grade Wolfpack have been beating everyone soundly. They are an extremely impressive team.
-
The purple 7th graders from Campbell County will be pretty strong this year.
-
Gold is the lesser of the two Campbell teams. St Marys is very solid with good guards in Uebel and Saunders. I have been told that the Summit View team is strong also.
-
It should be a good weekend for MS basketball with the Campbell County tourney and Williamstown going on. I will be traveling back and forth to both. Should be some good ball.
Williamstown - Pendleton, Harrison, Conner, Wolfpack AAU, Others??
Campbell - Campbell, Bracken, Others I am not sure of.

Campbell County 7th purple beat Turkeyfoot 51-39 last night. It was an ugly first half with foul trouble for McGovney. Regrouped well in second half. Game tonight against Holmes.
