  1. Referring to the Nixon Watergate Scandal of the 70's. Real worth & meaning: :argue:
  2. Should be a good one...high noon at the O.K. Corral !:flame:
  3. I think I'd have to give Raceland a slight edge over Hazard, & maybe a tie with Pikeville. I realize Pikeville has played some tough teams, but the majority of their schedule is soft (Allen Central, Betsy Layne, South Floyd, Phelps, etc...). As for Hazard, they're kind of in the same boat schedule-wise (Evarts, Phelps, Pineville, Jenkins, etc...). Their test will come against LCA. Raceland's schedule is decent, & they will face a stern test against Russell Friday night. Should make for an interesting 1A playoff race...
  4. Well, I for one hope that this game is a good springboard for both programs to go far into the playoffs & hopefully a state championship. Both schools always support each other except for when they play. I am looking forward to an electric atmosphere Friday night. :flame:
  5. Cats will put up a fight, but JC pulls away in the end....35-14.
  6. I seriously doubt the Raceland game was (as you put it) "what was left". It was just more logical & realistic to play a competitive team that would be a good rivalry close to home...period. If you really think Coach McGlone would rather play another "Lewis Co." type team (no disrespect intended) as opposed to a team that will help his team be better for the playoffs then you're sadly mistaken. I know that you have to play district teams, but this was (& is) far more logical (especially late in the season) than Danville or Fort Thomas. The bottom line is that it's not a "slap-in-the-face" to play Raceland; Ashland does it, & the majority of Raceland's opponents are bigger in class except their district opponents. Lighten up a little & enjoy Friday's game!
  7. Just hope the rain dies down so they don't have to move the game to Putnam Stadium (LOL). Raceland needs a retractable roof over Ram stadium like the Seahawks have!
  8. Thanks Ram... I totally agree with what you've said & pointed out. I also agree that there's alot of us on here that have "mixed" bloodlines through both schools. :thumb: I really think it's a win-win situation for both schools regardless of what anyone thinks.
  9. Thanks for the welcome Old Rambler & Cvillecat. :thumb: I just hope the game lives up to its hype. I know that this game is important to both schools regardless of what anyone from Russell or Raceland says. I just think it is important for different reasons to each school. If for nothing else (as I said earlier) a good measuring stick right before playoff time. If it didn't matter they wouldn't play! Maybe Raceland has more to gain from this game, but I can't honestly believe that Russell would rather play a doormat right before the playoffs as opposed to good competition, not to mention why play a team where the fans don't have good support or don't care, especially a non-district one? "The illresistable force meeting the immovable object!" :fight:I just hope both teams are healthy & have all of their players healthy for the game.
  10. :thumb: I'm sure the Raceland fans wouldn't mind either. Always fun to play in that atmosphere.
  11. Would be an ironic twist of irony if the Rams had to pay to be on the field at Putnam for the last time, considering that they've had to pay Raceland to come there to play! Still wondering if they'll (the Cats) renew the contract with Raceland after this year. Hope so...would be nice to see the Tomcats in Ram Stadium. If the Devils can come to Raceland, so can Ashland. A home & home series would be nice, but i'm sure Raceland doesn't mind driving six miles for another home game. :thumb:
  12. Still was funny though...I'm sure the Tomcats would rent the field for a good fee (LOL).
  13. Belfry 42 East Carter 6 Pirates are too strong & too good.:fight:
  14. I agree...but I think 90% of this is going on the tradition (or lack thereof) of some of these schools. I do think strength of schedule is important, but if you're not beating any of the top teams on your schedule, & you have a losing record, then how do you even make the list? I don't care if you only had seven teams (LOL), you shouldn't be on there!
  15. Thanks for the welcome ! I will read the link, because i am still feeling my way around on here!
  16. I agree (LOL)...maybe we could get them to sponsor the game and pump some money into the football programs of both schools! :ylsuper: Wonder how this will affect both school's practice schedules today, as well as the miserable rain.
  17. Alot of variables in this game. Both defenses are a little suspect in the opposing teams' strength area (Russell stopping the pass vs Raceland stopping the run). I think this game will be much closer than people expect. Good tuneup for both teams heading into the playoffs.
