A lot of those kids that have offers from VCU play for Louisville Magic. SE Missouri St. has also offered a bunch from Kentucky and of course Samford has too. But we all know the Samford tie.

Garrard County lost the majority of their scoring and rebounding to graduation. They do have 2 returning seniors with varsity experience in Jacob Barker and Parker Daily. Both averaged about 5 points per game last year but will be relied upon to take more of a leadership role this coming season.

Read in the BG Daily News that Terry Taylor has picked up offers from SE Missouri St. and Texas Southern.

The KBA in Lexington holds a state basketball tournament for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade school teams. 6th is held the last weekend of January, 7th the first weekend in February, and 8th the 3rd weekend in February. 6th usually has around 50 teams participate, 7th 60-70, and 8th 70+. Football has a middle school state playoff that is held throughout the month of October with the finals usually on the 1st weekend of November in Lexington. There is an 8th grade division I, II, and III. There is also an all inclusive 7th grade playoff. There is good middle school football and basketball throughout the Commonwealth!

Somerset High School slugger Trae Harmon had verbally committed to play baseball at the University of Kentucky. He was 1st team all state this past season as a sophomore.

Age may be the preferred way to go but it has really hurt AAU basketball by making the switch. 6 years ago 8th grade nationals in Orlando had around 140 teams participate in D1 alone. Now they will be lucky to get 50 teams participating.

I don't know if he is eligible to play 13u or not. My guess is he has no desire to play 13u when he is playing in front of college coaches at the highest level of competition in the 17u eybl level. And from what I understand he is the first and only kid his age to do so. That is impressive!! He is eligible for 14u, 15u, and 16u, but he is choosing and excelling at the 17u level. Not because he is being forced to play up. That is why he is considered the #1 player in his class. I'm looking forward to following his progress.

I am not sure. I have not heard about a transfer but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. Maybe someone closer to the program can fill us in.

East Jessamine went 12-19 in 2015-16. They should return 68% of the team's scoring from last year. Incoming senior guard Nathan Harper led the team in scoring averaging 18 points per game but only played in 19 of their 30 games. It's still going to be tough for the Jaguars to get out of the district again next season.
