  1. My name is Dr. Philmore Payne and I take out wisdom teeth everyday. Extracting wisdom teeth is like most surguries, you are going to have pain afterwards. My recommendations are to take 800mg ibuprophen before the numbness wears off to help reduce the inflammation. When the anesthetic wears off the pain is usually not as strong although it is still painfull. You can also take the prescribed narcotic. I suggest taking both the ibuprophen and the narcotic (staggering the dose times). You would be suprised at how well the ibuprophen works. Also, rinse out with warm salt water before bed (don't swish). No smoking, no push ups, sit ups, bending over or lifting more than 15 lbs for the next 3-5 days. You want to protect those extraction sites from the dreaded......DRY SOCKET :fire: (you think you have pain now!) You cannot eliminated the discomfort completely, but by protecting the surgury sites and following these recommendations you can help speed up the healing process. :thumb:
  2. Southeast Ky in Barbourville (Union College). Go south on Hwy 75, get off at the Corbin exit and go 30 mile east. They are the best team that Meece has played this year. They may have had the best game of their lives against us, but they beat us by 14.:irked: They have good size and a guard (#23) that dominated the game scoring 36 pts.
  3. The top left bracket is the second toughest bracket IMO. If Bryan Station has Trigg and Morton then that would remind me of the old Lex Blaze teams that were always tough in AAU. I would have to give them the team to beat out of that bracket. But, they will have a very tough road getting there having to play (possibly) Georgetown in the second round, Lincoln Co. in the 3rd round and Hazard in the quarter finals.
  4. It will be interesting to see what the teams from western ky have. We know nothing about them, yet when they get to high school they are solid organizations (ie Christian Co.). I like Knox Co. out of the lower left bracket. I also think they have the best chance to win the state tournament. I also predict that the winner of the LTMS/ Highlands game will make it to Sunday to play Knox Co.
  5. The bottom right bracket is by far the most challenging bracket! There are 7 or 8 ligitimate teams that could get to the final four: Shelby West, Wayne Co., S. Laurel, Whitley Co., Meece, Scott Co., LTMS, or Highlands. Not to mention Northern has improved over the year and a team from Louisville that no one knows about. I do not expect the state champion to come from this bracket because they will have used all of there energy just to get there.
  6. Pendleton Co. 's biggest challenge is going to be in the second round vs Clay Co. The winner of that game will go to the final four IMO.
  7. The brackets are posted for the 7th grade state tournament. Who has the toughest route to the championship. Who has the easiest. Give me your bracketology.
  8. I know a stud 9/u player from Albany that would make any D1 national team better. Orlando is the best AAU experience there is.
  9. S. Laurel 6th grade team is average. Meece beat them by 20+ both times they played them.
  10. I agree, Page is a good shooter and if he is on, watch out. I have not seen Downey. I would definately put Bryan Station as a contender if Morton and Trigg are playing. LTMS should be tough with McFarland. Meece has potential to do well in the tournament, but they also do not have depth. One of their better players has been acedemically ineligible for most of the year. If he has his grades up by next week it would be a big plus for Meece.
  11. Best dunk I have ever witnessed in a high school game: Russ Chadwell 1988 Clay Co. state tournament Best dunk in a game I was playing in: Julius Green 1989 Wayne Co.
  12. Knox Co. is the best team I have seen this year. Solid guard play and a nice big man. They have double digit wins over Clay Co., Wayne Co., and Meece. None of their kids play AAU. #23 is their stud. He is the best guard Meece has played against this year. He has a mustache and can grab the rim :sssh: He had 36 points agianst meece.
  13. The KBA is looking at hosting an AAU tournament the weekend of Feb. 23rd. But it is not final yet. As far as there being AAU teams in the 7th grade middle school state tournament, no.
  14. 7th grade state looks competitive! Who are the favorites and who is a sleeper? Favorites: Knox Co. S. Laurel (if Sanders is back) Scott Co. Sleepers: Clay Co. Wayne Co. Lincoln Co.
  15. If they have a win over Rose Hill then you have to put Hazard as one of the better 8th grade teams. Who are some of the teams Hazard 7th grade has played?
  16. I think the KBA has the best officials of any facility we have ever played in for the most part. That does not mean that there aren't a few bad ones in the mix. I watched the Central vs Lincoln Co. game and I don't think it was one of there better crews. But, for the overall tournament I think they were decent.
  17. I enjoyed watching Central play this weekend. Congratulations on the final four.
  18. :thumb: I'm glad the KBA did this tournament and I look forward to the ones to come.. The staff is a class act.
  19. The KBA has 45 teams posted for the 7th grade state tournament. Who are some of the better teams and what school do some of the better players from AAU play for. Example: Meece (Somerset)- Gover, Dishman South Laurel- Sanders Pendelton Co.- Monroe LTMS- McFarland Scott Co.-Portwood, Richardson Royal Springs- Diaw Brian Station- Morton
  20. I am looking forward to the 7th grade state tournament. So far around 45 teams have signed up.
