  1. I'd rather see Bruce once a year in a non-conference game than 2 times in conference.
  2. I'll be there to see it baby! Cats by 12...Make a statement headin to Catlanta!!
  3. East is way too strong for Tomcats on paper, and really, in person. East by 15+.
  4. Those way be worse than the Apex (I believe Prickett's Sr. year..they looked like heart monitors)...or the denim...which I loved at the time. But looking back, not so nice.
  5. GC is in a mess. But they have potential and talent coming up through the ranks. Whoever gets this job, lets hope they make it a full season and I'd say in 2-3 years, GC will be a contender, not a favorite. They just need a leader for that program. Sad how the mighty have fallen. Can we get Ward back? I'd love to see him and Zornes going at it again.
  6. Elliot out to prove a point. Rose Hill looking to make biggest mark yet this season. Elliot by 2 in a classic.
  7. Not who will win, but who gives us the best chance to compete at state? It's a different look at what the teams give you.
  8. I was quoting the movie "Blue Chips", by the way. Don't read into that.
  9. Wow. Wishful thinking is an understatement.
  10. You also can't undermine Coach Sutton's guidance and impact on that team, either. He is a fantastic young coach who should be considered a candidate for that job if Coach Smith doesn't already have it. Best of luck to both in this process.
  11. Cats have won with backwoods Ky boys before. I would love to have one of our own in the mix at UK, but I just dont see his game translating to the big-time game. But wherever he goes, best of luck. He had a marvelous career in H.S..
  12. Has anyone heard anything relating to the coaching vacancy at Greenup and, I am assuming here, the coaching vacancy at Rowan? (:confused:I don't know the status there.) Just curious.
  13. Dirt has a good point. Although Morehead is technically a neutral site, Rowan Co. might as well be playing at home. BUT, to agree on another point, most gyms can't hold the capacity to allow this to rotate. Morehead makes the most sense in that aspect, but it is still a home game for one team. Much like college football and it's postseason, this system will never be perfect!
  14. Elliot seems like they were playing with no killer instinct in the first half of yesterday's game vs. Greenup. They turned up the heat in the 3rd and blew by the Musketeers, but if they try that stuff against a Rose Hill team that has played everyone short of the Lakers this year, they may be in for more than they expect. Not to mention, the Hill has already beaten them this year. If Elliot wins and East wins (I think they are just better than Ashland, but it's March...), beating a team 3 times is tough. Beating them a fourth time? All I know is it'll be a great game.
  15. Did ya see what he did at Bath this year? Yes they had some ball players, and they did lose first round of the region to a good Ashland team who hasn't played well, but were playing decent down the stretch. Bath was awful last year and he did great things there. Hicks is a pretty good coach, despite his shortcomings.
  16. Totally agreed. That Warford kid that just commited to UK...his film is solid. No mentions? I also agree defensive players get no love. "Defense wins championships"-just not awards. Bad message.
  17. This is surprising. I know Herbie wantas to make this a national event, but Ky usually has a team in. Highlands, St. X or Trinity (amongst many good teams) couldn't get a bid?
  18. GC people love 'em some baskeball and I expect a good following tonight. Rose Hill and Elliot pack star power so not only will that attract their crowds, it will attract fans in general. I am, howver, surprised that their would be low attendance last night. Raceland-East was probably the best matchup going in, and Ashland is Ashland. Wake up people-it's March!
  19. On another note...has this not been a great girl's regional thusfar? Classic finishes, great performances and all the top seeds advancing to the semis! I know we had like 5 girls go D-1 last year, but this season has been better overall. I look forward to the semis this weekend and expect nothing less than great girls basketball. Good luck to all teams!
  20. What a whirlwind year for the Lady Vikings! They got a coach, lost him, and their current coach took the job, what, like a week before the season? They beat a top-10 team in the state (was it Montgomery co.?) and haven't lost in the region. This team is a buzzsaw. Good luck to them and Morgan Co!
  21. Vanderhoof was out for that Ashland game. I was in attendance for that one and Ashland could've won by far more. Their press gave the Rams fits and I see that happening again. Although Vanderhoof will give the Rams a very good punch and some much needed confidence for this game, I do not think she will be the difference. I have been wrong plenty of times and this may be the case, but unless they can advance the ball this time, it will not be pretty for the Rams. That said, both teams are playing well and the Rams are as close to 100% as they've been all year. This could be the best game of the semifinals on either side.
  22. Personally, I find it hard to believe someone is questioning the credibility of a girl with their own opinion after only seeing her play once. Not to say you are wrong for having an opinion Madeline, but maybe do a little research before stating it. I am not a Russell fanatic or do I know their history, but I will side with the faithful and their knowledge. Congrats on a wonderful career Samantha! Good luck this spring!
