No you are not arguing with a kid and I do not know about my son making it to the NFL that is 6 years away and many things can happen between now and then but he is good at what he does and you can ask several people around this area about him. You know the problem with some is they are so blinded by their team they do not really get to enjoy the ability and talent of others. I do not care how many state titles you have won or how many you are going to win in the next 20 years all I care about is watching good football and playing good teams and it should be an honor that everyone wants to play you not an opportunity for you to rub in all of your success and to down other programs. We have a pretty good program here at Owensboro that has produced several former NFL players over the last 20 or so years maybe we haven't won 17 state titles just 5 in our history but we have won and we will again some day sooner than later hopefully. So in closing in this rant that I have you should want to go out and play other schools out in the state. You can argue you are better than St X or T any year because you don't play them and well we don't either. Highlands is on a different level than most in 5A but they are not on the same level as 2 big teams in 6A either maybe closer than most but not where you can go beat them every year. So it is what it is and probably always will be so I am going to stop the argument. Just come and play us or we will come up there that is all I want is to see the program that you guys are so proud of in Ft Thomas.

I am glad you saw the film that was the 3rd game of the year with a totally new offense and a sophmore QB playing his 3rd varsity game. Totally different team but nobody can ever beat Highlands so I will quit the argument because you are always right. Nobody will ever be able to play with you and you guys are so good you ought to be ranked #1 in the nation. I just hope the boys that play for Highlands are more respectful and less arrogant than the people on this mesage board.

Purplealum you can say that again! These are three toss up games that can go either way. The next 3 weeks in the west are going to be tough games for everyone that keeps winning. You scrimmage Male you don't play Male. We scrimmage the Patriots and Cowboys. So a scrimmage is all it is if was a game with meaning I know the approach to that would be a bit different. Good Luck Friday night and go Bluebirds I want to see you there in December not upset along the way. If we make it there I want to play you and nobody else win or lose I don't care then but if I am going to lose I want to lose to the team that is suppose to win it anyway!!! You guys need to come and play in the storied Rash Stadium as we need to come up and play at your storied stadium as well. We started playing Bowling Green in 1932 we did not play you for the first time until 1999 in the finals don't you think it is time you scheduled one of the west teams with all that history??? Well actually after the 2000 game against Highlands Owensboro was moved up to 4A at that time and in 2001 lost in the semi finals to Louisville Male and were in 4A until the classes changed last year and since they were one of the smallest 4A schools they are now 5A. So had OHS been kept in 3A in 2001 they may have won the title that year. I don't remember who won 3A in 2001 oh yes I do it was Boyle Co. I said this on another thread earlier that yes although a state title would be nice for my son the world will not end if it doesn't happen but he will be playing somewhere on Saturdays and hopefully on Sundays after that and that is what is the most important to me. Free education and a chance to make a living playing a game. The bigger picture is really what it is about! I would trade 4 state titles for an NCAA title or super bowl title any day!

Yes and we had Justin Miller and Bo Smith! Which was even a different coach than we have now lets go back and see back in 1923 we beat Bowling Green College woohoo! Well I know they will in the finals and I sure hope it is us because I think we can give you a game. I may be wrong but this is one of the best OHS teams in a while as in the whole package not just a few good players but the team as a whole and should be for at least 2 more years. That is why I want the regular season game. Come to the Big O once and get some Moonlite bar B Q and then we will come up there and eat with you guys.

We haven't played them so you can't say we can't beat them. When that game happens and they win you can say that but right now they haven't played anyone in 5A in the west except for BG and Hoptown since 5A started. And currently Hoptown doesn't even get a nod as a top 10 team in 5A they are the 3rd best team in their district.

Clearly Highlands has to be the favorite I am not arguing that since nobody they have scheduled in KY has beat them since 2006. If you guys are finished with the Hoptown home and home I want you to call and schedule OHS for the next 2 years please. Nope that is fact until someone in KY beats you. Not all of us are as fortunate as you but just don't like it rubbed in our face.

If this is the case why is that fair to all the other teams that play in their class? This is just one thing with the KHSAA that I do not understand sounds like they are playing favorites and allowing something to happen that really shouldn't. If you are 3A play there or if you are 4A play there. After seeing the score of the game from this year CovCath may want to consider going back to 4A and forget that district rivalry!

See this is another problem as well. Nobody is anywhere near Highland's level so if we were to beat you it is just luck more than skill. This again is arrogance.

Crunch this is how I see it you say man BS did a good job we were lucky to get out of there with a win. THIS IS A GOOD ASSUMPTION NOT Man that was close BS has a good team but we fumbled the ball 5 or 6 times and kept them in it or it would have been a blow out. See the difference. Never make excuses for almost losing. Games happen that way and everyone knows that. How about BS saying man we would have won had we not thrown the INT on our own 10 like I think happened. Shoulda Woulda Coulda I think that is the point. Sometimes it comes off as arrogance and not giving the other team credit for a hard fought game. And one more thing I want to add as well quit using the but we are already playing up in 5A and we should be in 3A thing anymore that chaps most people as well because one if you are 3A you should either be in 3A or play in 5A and shut up about it. How many teams are play up out of their class anyway does anyone know?

Well I will save my comments on beating them until a later time we have to play a pretty good BG team then probably a pretty good CC team and if we survive both of those porbably a good JH team just to get a shot at whipping the Birds. I would like to have them on our schedule just for the fact at getting a chance to beat them every year. Sometimes the best in the West is not the team represented in December although the last few years it has but this year it may not be the case. I think a few teams in the west could give the Birds problems in the finals since I know of a few teams that have a ton of speed on both sides and can pass and run. Sometimes it is about matchups and BS showed why they were a tough matchup Friday night even though Highlands made turnovers those things still happen and maybe a better team could have shut the door early kind of like BG vs OHS last year BG had 5 TOs in the first quarter and OHS couldn't get but 13 points.

VOR those 5 are pretty good yes indeed. I would probably also pick what I think might be the upset special for Friday and that is Hoptown over Christian Co. Now before anyone goes nuts just for the pure fact that they play where it is a home game for both teams and that CC is ranked #2 and Hoptown not at all. CC should win but I would not be surprised if Hoptown won. That is why I picked it as my upset of the week.

So all 3 teams below JC were tied and they flipped a coin to see where they were seeded? My rant does make a few good points though don't you think? I am just saying You don't have to toot your horns when you are winning let the score and results do the talking. Nobody likes a sore winner and that is the way this looks!
