His Jr year, it was Cawood. He had 106 yds I believe. If I had to guess about his Sr year, I would say Ashland probably held him fairly low!

You are exactly right. Thats a good observation. Scott could probably have had another 1000 or more yards. An example is in his junior year, his 2cd lowest rushing output was to Jenkins where he carried it 6 times for 186 yards and 4 td's. We were ashamed to let him have it any more!

They were good boys with big hearts but were limited physically. One guard 5'9" 160 and the other guard 5'8" 175. The center wasnt very big either. Joey Hubbs was a heck off a blocking FB and Brad Kirby was a good blocker out of the backfield as well. The line did a good job but Scott got a lot of yards on 2cd and 3rd effort!:thumb:

Scott played at Evarts, not Cawood. He never played Bell County. Im Scott's biggest fan but I dont know of anyone that runs through Bell County that easily. But, you are right....he was a hoss!!

Your right. Bill Musick at Evarts when Russell broke the rushing record. Musick was the coach at Johnson Central when Couch broke the passing record. Couch threw for over 400 that night if I remember correctly!:thumb:

Barrett was a heck of a kicker although none of the Harlan County teams have been exactly "eat up" with kickers the last 20/25 years! Eric Bowling could kick the cover off but he played on the same team as Barrett!!

Kirksey would have come after Roy Evans I think. I Earl kicked a 37 yarder in 98, I dont see how HDE missed it but I'll take your word for it!!:thumb:

Thats who I was trying to remember. Did he play in the NFL? I know he coached in the leaque!

I cant remember his name. He played RB and DB for Harlan in the mid to late 70's if its the one Im thinking of. He also had several pro and college coaching stops. The last I heard he was with the 49ers but that has been several years back!
