  1. Legend. In my opinion right there with the best nky coaches ever. This may be his curtain call year and SK has its sights set on the big title at Rupp
  2. There was no McDonalds for girls when Walz played. Walz played in the equivalent girls National all star game at the time. 2002 was first girls game for McDonald’s so Maddie is the first NKY. She is the fifth ever from Kentucky. Hard to compare Jaime and Maddie, different type of players from different eras of basketball. Have seen both play. I’m a big Maddie fan, I would think this solidified Maddie as one of the top two players ever from NKY? Only three other Miss Basketballs correct? Walz, Moss and Donna Murphy. Am I missing anyone?
  3. I don’t think it’s that anyone is against SK on here, but it’s unfortunate that two big wins that showed how good SK is this year (Ryle and Dixie) were when the teams had good players out or playing half the game. It’s given everyone the “but so and so was out” caveat. They will win the Traditional Bank tourney in Lexington and that should firmly set them in the top 5 teams in Kentucky.
  4. Not sure what your saying here? And why did you quote me? SK returns and played basically all their main contributors from last year. The three seniors and Webb. Chelsea Little and Alexis Baker also returned and are contributing now. But after those 6 there is not much that returned to contribute. So “10 returners” means very little in girls basketball. Considering the loss of Schwartz, McGregor and Scherr for this game I’d say Ryle returned even less of their actual contributors. Maybe a Ryle fan can be specific?
  5. Not sure what you mean. I definitely do not think Scherr is laughable when it comes to impacting a game. I do think she’s the best player in ky. Would she have made a 30pt difference? No player makes that big a difference in my opinion. That was my point. Would the game be closer, of course. But that goes to show how good SK is this year.
  6. Due to Jenkins going to Anderson County and SK's depth and strong senior class Walton will have a hard time making alot of noise in the 8th. Walton has a strong team this year, so the timing is unfortunate for them.
  7. Simon Kenton made a big statement last night beating Ryle by 30. Top five team for sure.
  8. Don't know about freshman, but Ryle had a nice looking 8th grader start for them last night.
  9. No player is a 30 point difference. Sk is loaded with seniors and veteran players. Size and skill. This will be a fun year for them. This could be best finish at the Sweet Sixteen ever for the Lady Pioneers. Possibly Stowers final hoorah?
  10. Lots of info here. Keifer. You can’t argue Keifer to a low ranking using an argument that works just as well on players like Holbrook or Lockard. Great guards that can shoot that mostly rely on bigger players to make them good. Keifer will unquestionably end up at a D1 school which the other girls will not. Macke and Holbrook probably won’t even play college ball. Keifers outside shooting is improving too. In my opinion Abby West is just a better all-around player than Holbrook and Macke. They are all very similar and what they can do. But having watched all of them in the summer as well I would take Abby West first. You have to concede that they are at least close, if you’ve watched all three of them play much. As far as Vickers, she is going to a top college D3 program. (Moving to NAIA I think?). And to use the same argument you used against Keifer I would argue that Vickers is a much better all-around player than Stamper. Stamper can bully you inside but after that there’s not much else. In my opinion Feldman is better than Macke, Lockard and Holbrook. I think once you see her play you will agree pretty quickly. She had an outstanding summer playing for a very high level team. Lastly I think Lawson is top 5/6 player in NKY. I did not take her ACL into account. I just ranked according to my opinion of best players. The 10th spot is harder, I do agree that Allen is right there in the running for top 10. I’d have to say Allen, Webb or maybe Macke for my 10th spot.
  11. Jenkins at Anderson County is a game changer. Now they will challenge Simon Kenton this year despite SKs depth and senior leadership. Jenkins is top 5 player in the 8th.
  12. Your top 4 are good but after that the list seems suspect. Scherr Meredith Crittenden Jones Marie Keifer Bishop Brossart Madeline Lawson Dixie Abby West Grant County Mattison Vickers SK Macie Feldman NDA Sereniti Webb SK
  13. Coach Stowers is well known as GREAT coach. Anyone who follows girls basketball knows this. You and others may not like or appreciate his style or tactics, but he has established himself among the elite coaches in KY. Girls move to his school to play for him. Nell Fookes has her detractors because of her aggressive style. Stowers has his detractors cause of his reactive style. But you can’t argue with the legacy of either coach. As to SK in NKY, it’s not like they don’t play the NKY teams? They’ve been ranked in the top 3 teams in NKY for what the past 10 years straight? That’s because they beat them all head to head with a few exceptions. This year’s team will beat every major team in the ninth again except maybe Ryle. Outside chance Dixie could beat them. At worst they are 3rd if they were in the ninth. NKY Centers Drummonds, NAIA school? Thomas, no offers yet? Webb, will play mid major or better D1 Missing anyone? Maddie D is a fine player, but one good game doesn’t make her the best. If you count Keifer from Brossart as a center then she’s probably the best in NKY. But it’s likely she won’t be strong enough to be a 5 in college.
