  1. In my opinion a recruit has many very difficult decisions when making a college decision. One of the hardest is balancing playing time and how quickly that comes in his college career. Do I go to a school that might be "bigger" and sit for a year or two before I get an opportunity? Do I go to a school where an opportunity to play is there when I walk onto campus? Location, education, size of enrollment are all other aspects that come into a decision. As for Weyer. I have to admit I have been away from the high school scene for many years and resorted to a casual fan and follower. I am not going to pretend to express my opinion if he can or can not play D1. My question is did he have any offers at the D1 level? Reading this forum, it appears NKU offered and the new coaching staff pulled the offer? What other D1 schools offered him a scholarship to play D1 ball?
  2. Okay. Here is the thing. Most on here love Carson's game. Great kid. Staying to play locally. You coming on here thinking you are helping promote him is having a reverse effect. He has had a great HS career. Hopefully that continues for NKU. Please stop. There is zero chance you coach in college. I firmly believe you have to have some basketball IQ to achieve a coaching position.
  3. Wait? Is he Larry Bird? Charles Barkley? Paul Millsap?
  4. Wow! I would have never guessed that. Thanks for clarifying.
  5. You don't care about NKU players. Only Williams. Team player....
  6. Do you even realize the stuff that comes out of your mouth? I for one agree NKU is a program that has a tremendous upside. You dismiss the existing players like they are garbage. Come on! Have you been to a NKU game this year or is your only agenda to promote Williams? I love Carson's game and think he will be a great addition to NKU however he can't do it alone. He needs more than Faulkner. Did a little research on the EYBL website and confirmed McDonald and Williams were on the same team that went to he Peach Jam in 2014. Some stats from the season. Games played Williams - 15 McDonald - 15 Points Williams - 159 McDonald - 164 Rebounds Williams - 75 McDonald - 91 FG Percentage Williams - 56% McDonald - 49% Blocks Williams - 16 McDonald - 12 Both of these men put up great numbers in the EYBL. Hopefully William, Faulkner and the other commits will gel well with existing team members and NKU will be production next season and for years to come.
  7. As far as others hanging on him, that's part of the game. Comes with the territory of being a big. Personally I don't think you simply keep shooting to get into a rhythm. If they are good shots and part of the offense, then yes you take them. Some times you are just having an off night. In times like these, defer to your teammates and be an asset in other part of the game. Get rebounds. Set picks. Defend. Be a vocal leader. I'm not saying Ben didn't do those things. I am just adding my opinion you don't keep shooting to get into a rhythm.
  8. Not totally surprising. NCC lost several impact players from last year? Over the last 2 years multiple college level athletes. From the games/teams I have seen play this year the region is way way down from last year.
  9. I don't think he said Weyer was soft. He said it was his opinion that he tends to fade away versus taking it into the opponent. Scoring 28 points is irrelevant to this point.
  10. So how many played tonight and what were their minute totals?
  11. How does only 4 players score for NCC? How many players are seeing the floor? Anyone have how many minutes each player played? Aren't they going to need more support to bring home the region and make it to Rupp? Is this an issue with the coaching staff only playing 6 players or players not scoring?
  12. Can you please share what D1 schools have already offered Stevenson?
