Looks like expansion to 24 teams is all but a done deal. Conferences and teams have agreed and are in negotiations with TV to finalize the money. The negotiation window closes October 9th for this to be in place by next season. It appears that this may be the last year for Conference Championship Games as that extra week is needed to fit a 24 team playoff into the calendar. The agreed upon selection format is that the top 23 teams plus 1 G6 (if none are in top 24) team will be in the CFP. Top 8 receive byes with 9-16 hosting first rounds on college campuses. I love that there aren't a given number of selections tied to any conferences.

It would be nice if only top 8 opponents count towards RPI. Several schools watch their RPI drop dramatically once district play begins. Schools have no choice in who they have to play. Being aligned in a poor district shouldn't cripple your RPI. Just count 8 games for RPI and level the field a little.

Walmart Bowl being played tonight. Rams are owned by the son in law of Walmart Co-Founder Bud Walton and the Broncos are owned by the family of Walmart Founder Sam Walton.

Just realized that Georgia has a cakewalk this year. Their schedule has no Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, A&M or Texas...additionally no Miss St or Kentucky both of which appear to be improved from the past. It looks like maybe Florida and possibly Ole Miss, if QB has a huge day, are their only potential close games this season.

Dumbest penalty of the year on Texas...had Tennessee to 4th and 29 and player acted like he was urinating on the field and/or Tennessee player.
