capitalreporter Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Henry Clay seems like they are getting good balanced scoring. Watch out for this team and Coach Chiles.
colonelfan2001 Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 This game was a 5 point game with 3 minutes to go. Southern was down by 21 and cut it to 5 at 65-60. I was very impressed with Southerns effort. They are getting much better.
traveler Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Southern got off to a slow start at the beginning of the season with a couple of loses that were close. They seem to have gotten things going with the play of the seniors and football players seem to have gotten football out of them. They player very hard last night and if they could have gotten a couple shots to fall at the right time when they were within 5 points, they could have pulled out the win. Southern will only get better as the season goes on. Great game for Southern, they played with alot of heart and did not give up.
SKNEERS Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Didnt Henry Clay lose to Simon Kenton in the Tournament this week? I am not sure if my source is credible.

nWo Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 That was Bryan Station in the A.I.T. Not according to the KHSAA scoreboard. http://scoreboard.12dt.com/scoreboard/bluegrasspreps/kybbk5?source=bluegrasspreps&did=&tid=20553&action_name=

themansnowyriver Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 IMO this Southern team is better than a lot thought, especially as of late. They have a lot of ingredients to have a good club. Good guard play. Stong in the paint. They can defend and score.
traveler Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 This Southern team is the same team that won 20 games last year, they only lost one player from last year. It has taken a little while for the football players to get things going, but playing their 8 game in about 11 days has got things clicking. Southern was without one player in Henry Clay, he turned an ankle in the Clay Co game. He would have given some help with defense and rebounding in the Henry Clay game. This Southern team will only get better as the season goes on and will given Madison Central a game in the district.
