I think it is a problem across the state. Why pay to watch high school basketball when you can watch college games at home. Most schools struggle to create an environment of school spirit. We live in a society where it is easier to criticize the other team and complain about your team or coach instead of just showing support for the kids and coaches who are giving their all! Think about adults that attend games, most of them spend their time complaining about the coaches, players and refs! Instead of just being supportive and cheering for their team!!

A lot of great players never make the show and it is a shame. Gayheart can be added to that list. Crittenden from Ryle is another that comes to mind. It doesn't take anything away from their careers.

Gayheart is a VERY special player! IMO She stands alone as POY in the 8th region. She does it ALL for Owen County.
