Monte Ellis is a top scorer, but he and Curry in the same back court just isn't going to work because they are so similar and both smaller guards. They have been looking for a Center ever since they realized Biendris is a fraud and ripped them a new one on his last deal. Now they get the big they've been looking for forever and a solid scoring threat to replace Ellis. Jackson has good size for a 2 and now they a more balanced lineup to work with.

 

On the flip side, Milwaukee gets Stephen Jackson out of town, and now they bring in more consistent scoring to take the load of Jennings. If they can find a big to replace Bogut and Udoh develops into a solid rotation guy both teams make out okay in this IMO.

 

I would call the trade a push, no one really out doing the other. Both teams getting rid of guys they needed rid of and both have a fresh look.

GSW gets to keep their pick in the 2012 draft if it is in the top 7. If not the Jazz get it. They are pretty much throwing the rest of the year. Bogut is out for the year I believe.

No but is not always about that. When you have guys like Stephen Jackson who are unhappy and causing friction amongst the team you cannot put your best foot forward. Sometimes a change of scenery is good not only for the players getting dealt, but also the teams who done the dealing. Although the trades basically make the two teams stay about the same talent level as they were, it brings about a sense of change and that could spark some energy into a couple of franchises' that could use some energy. Gives not only the players, but the teams a fresh start so to speak, a new beginning.

Apparently Howard said he will roll the dice and stay put. In other words he doesn't want to deplete the Nets roster and will just sign in the off season.

Bulls were trying to work a 3 team trade for Gasol. Doesn't look likely but I think that puts them over the Heath if they get it done.

Agreed. Plus, I think it's a pretty desperate play on management's part. Even if they make some sort of deal, I don't see any way Orlando holds onto Howard. Do you?

No. At this point they would be crazy to not trade him IMO.

Howard is going to be as hated in Orlando as LeBron is in Cleveland. He is gonna leave them high and dry at the end of the season.
