I was told today by someone that was at the banquet that CovCaths Coach Wirth presented PT with this prestigious award. Apparently, Wirth mispronounced the last name, called him Towels. I have a hard time believing this happened because Towels owned Wirths Colonels on his own. I can guarantee you that Wirth knows how to spell his name and pronouce his name. Maybe he had one of those teleprompters in his ear and that person mispronoucned his name. LOL

 

We thought the same thing after he pronounced his name... although Coach Wirth did give PT props for taking the Colonels to the woodshed a time or two.

Why not? Hey they still got one coming up, Benny "the Jet" Towles is a heck of a receiver and probably is going to be about 6'-8. I think hes 6-2 now and hes only an 8th grader.

 

BTW, congrats PT, very well deserved.

 

The HHS stuff that was in the yard had Patricks name and #8 on it. I didn't see anything about Benny. Glad to hear the tradition is going to continue in the Towles family.

Congrats Patrick. Terry and Amy are surely proud of their son. They should also be proud of the way they have raised him.

In addition to helping lead the Bluebirds to a fifth straight state title,QB senior Patrick Towles, recieved many post-season accolades. Amassing 3,820 passing yards this season with a completion percentage of 65%,Towles completed 42 passing touchdowns with only one interception on top of 15 rushing touchdowns.These statistics helped Towles garner an impressive array of post-season awards, including Ky's Mr.Football(only the second player in HHS history to earn this award),Gatorade Ky Football Player of the Year and the Louisville QB Club Paul Horning Award.Most recently, Towles was named to the prestigious Parade Magazine All-American Team.

"Most of the awards that I won are really team awards,"said Towles."The Mr. Football and the one interception are only possible with a great O-line, awesome tight ends, solid recievers and quick running backs."

Towles plans on furthering his football career at UK.
