A pretty exciting game to watch. I thought WV played awful in the first half, but found themselves down only one at the half, 27-26. GC had built a double digit lead in the first, but WV came back, somehow. As was expected, WV had no answer for Josh Davis. A very nice game out of him. It seemed like WVwas determined to make him beat them, as they stayed packed in a zone for 3 1/2 quarters. Well, he did. I will say that unless Coach Bennet is ready to write this season off, some DRASTIC changes need to be made at the guard position. GC is a well coached, disciplined team. I can see where they could jump up and surprise some people down the road. I'm still scratching my head, trying to figure out how WV was even in this game. GC sure didn't help themselves with the refs, as one played received a "T" for what seemed to be taunting, and one fan was ejected from the premicise. WV actually had a shot to win it at the buzzer, but solid GC defense forced them to take a shot that I am sure was not what they had drawn up. There were some signs of life in WV tonight, they seemed to dominate the glass, but 25-30 turnovers per game just isn't going to cut it at any level.

I was not in attendence tonight, but I expected a close contest. Aside from a 57-34 victory over Henry Co. the Cats other 7 wins have been by a combined 33 points (4.7 points).

Gallatin does not have the inside presence on either end of the floor to get or prevent easy baskets that lead to blowouts.

A nice win for the 8-3 Cats heading into Friday's trip to Anderson Co.

It was exciting to watch, but once again it was an ugly one on Walton's side! It is Justin Davis for GC. He had a nice game, but what do you expect when WV let him shoot all night! They sat in a zone and he had open shots. WV really needs to change some things up, in order to turn this season around! Do you know how many points Davis ended up with?

Davis had 32 points. He was 7-15 from behind the arc. He has not been shooting well from long range this year, so Walton's stategy early may not have been bad. Maybe they figured no one could stop his dribble penatration.

Well they just played horse with him! I guess it was a toss up-- If he makes shots then they will beat WV like they did, but if he doesn't then great! I think I would rather have him penatrate and dish it to someone else and make them hit shots!

i believe waltons problem is they have no guards and no real scorers. they have no one to put the ball in the hole. in my opinion Franklin Daugherty needs to get way more touches. He is very athletic and has a well enough shot from the outside to do more than post up. it seems that the coaches are directly worried about the seniors on the team to forget who the real players are... if WV wants to win and have any shot at districts or All "A" Daugherty is going to have to put the ball in the hole, this will create for Hensly and Tungate to get their shots but the bearcat offense needs to run through Daugherty

Other than Daugherty, care to elaborate on who you think the "real players" are. I sure haven't seen anyone even make an attempt to step up this year. Nobody on this team is playing up to their potential, not Daugherty, not Tungate, not Hensley. Unless these three really step it up and take control of the games, they may not win another game this season. They are getting zero help, and it is causing them to try and force shots that aren't there.

I agree completly Lynn is starting to look better but the turn overs need to be cut in half and every once in while Reggie looks like he did last year then he seems to slow down again. Tungate has surprised me this year I belive he is having a career year but he has to have some help.

I just belive when they are playing a smaller team such as gallatin the need to play an inside out game with Daugherty and Hensley or Tungate. A man to man defense would of been nice before two minutes left in the fourth quarter also. You have to make sombody else step up for Gallatin because Davis had no problem doing so.

Walton has become a Bennett coached team again. It just doesn't seem like they are allowed to play man to man like they were taught in the last two years. I think people forget that 3 of these boys played alot of varsity minutes last year playing good hard nose defense. I know that these boys are use to winning and if allowed to they can win again.

Because they cannot guard anyone MTM. The only way they can stay in game or keep it close is sitting in a zone. Walton's team has no guards. They will not win a game until someone who can dribble the basketball transfers to Walton or "brought up". I'm really starting to wonder how bad of an idea it would be to bring up the 7th grade Sullivan to play. Lynn can't handle it. He can't shoot, he can't dribble. End of story.

Someone has to get the ball to Daugherty. There is NOBODY to get him the ball. Talent underneath basket goes to waste cause of no guards. It is sad to see.

What does Bennett coached team mean?

See post #1. This would pretty well fit the definition of a drastic change. Honestly, I watched this group play all summer. They are worse now as a team, than they were in May and June. They need to try anything they can, because the guard play can't get any worse.

Before Sullivan came back to W-V we watched alot of under-acheivers that were coached only by Kyle. After Sullivan came back we saw teams that begain to play defense again and started to force turnovers. The 2003-04 team that you played on was a good example do you think that without Sullivans input that you all would of acheieved as much as you did. As a Situation Coach Bennett is a real underacheiver.
