George Rogers Clark 70 Bourbon County 43

Good district win for the Cards. Adam Fatkin cleaned the glass tonight with 19 rebounds and 25 points. Howard had 16 points, not sure of the rest. Hope to have official stats in a few. The Cards improve to 13-2.

A nice win for the Cards. Another great game by Howard and Rogers. Doesn't this make GRC 2-1 in the district and a #2 seed?

How big is Fatkin? What grade?

6'6 Senior. Came off the bench the last two years for Cory Rogers and Zollo. Very under-rated player. I could see him or Bopper Stenzel getting player of the year in the 10th this year.

Not a pretty game to watch at all. Too many miscues and some lack of hustle. Don't take anyone for granted. Don't let up boys, you got a good thing going for you. I'll always be there to support you.

Fatkin continues to impress with his scoring and rebounding. Overall the game wasn't very pretty, but a win is a win. Didn't seem like there were hardly any high school student there.

Prep Basketball: Cards get win in return to Norton Gymnasium

Clark got a big outing from senior Adam Fatkin, who led his team with 25 points and 19 rebounds. Humphrey said the outmanned Colonels didn’t have an answer for Fatkin in the post.

“He just gets better every day,” the Clark coach said. “He’s improved big-time over the last year or so. He’s playing tremendous.”

Taylor Howard connected on four 3-pointers and followed Fatkin with 16 points, while Charlie Rogers added 13.

Humphrey was pleased with Howard’s performance.

“Taylor Howard had a really good night,” Humphrey said. “We all know he can shoot, but he’s doing a lot of other things for us. He’s guarding well, rebounding well. He’s becoming not just a good shooter, but a very good basketball player.”

Humphrey added that Howard is giving his team an added presence on both ends of the court.

“He is starting to become comfortable (on the court),” he said. “The speed of the game (is better for him) and he’s just improving in all facets of the game.”

Clark evened its district record at 1-1 and will face Montgomery County in a pivotal showdown on Dec. 13 at Norton Gymnasium. The Indians edged the Cardinals 58-56 during the first meeting between the two foes on Dec. 9 in Mount Sterling.

“You want to take care of business inside your district and we’ve already lost to Montgomery, so we can’t hardly afford to lose another one,” Humphrey said.

Next game: 6:30 p.m. Friday vs. Madison Southern, Norton Gym.
