Southwestern 68 Ohio County 60

Featured Replies

Final. Southwestern vs GRC in the finals at 4pm Friday.

Two really good teams in this one. I expect both to have the opportunity to play in Rupp.

Southwestern came up with the big plays down the stretch to get the win. The officiating was a little suspect at the end but I wouldn't say that is an excuse.

SW's coach is practically a stand up comedian. He's a walking one-liner on the sidelines.

What was always yelling at Kapinga about? Seemed like he yelled at him and no one else the whole game. And what is wrong with Justin Edwards? He was likely their best player last year but he can't buy a bucket in this tourney. To his credit he played a great 4th quarter tonight.

Cody Epperson may be the best defensive player in the 12th region. He plays spectacular defense.

He was all over Kapinga. It started in the first quarter when Kapinga ignored him and called his own play. After that, it was a long night. But, Kapinga really picked it up late and was a big part of the win.

Yeah, I thought he was calling his own number. I thought he did it again at the start of the second half. I wasn't much on him the first time I saw him but he has really impressed me the last two games. Sophomore. I'd love to see him against Gover. Should be a great match up. He gets after it defensively.

I need some info BGP:

- how old is Edwards at SW? Junior or senior?

- who is the kid that hit 5-6 three-pointers tonight?

If Kapinga stays at Southwestern for two more seasons, he'll be a force a be reckoned with. He's young and still adjusting to the different style of basketball here, but he's talented. If he had an outside shot, he'd already be a major problem.

Agree. He'll be fun to follow.

Edwards is a sophomore. Yep. He and Kapinga have two more seasons together.

The other kid is a new to me. He has a nice stroke.

Edwards will be a beast when his body fills out with some muscle. Southwestern may be the region favorite three seasons in a row.

By the way, I almost lost it when the SW coach was talking to the ref about that late block/charge call.

He said, "he was frozen! He was a freaking popsicle...He was standing there like a dead man."

The offficial simply said, "I hear you Coach."

That was the flop of the night. Happened right in front of me. The kid elevated straight up to shoot and Epperson went down like a soccer player. Without a doubt it was a blocking foul. My buddy I started laughing at the SW fans that lost their minds. The SW fans to my right didn't say a word though. They saw it.

2 out of 3. It will be criminal if Pulaski County doesn't represent the region in 2012-13. Criminal.

Another time I laughed was when he told Kapinga, "You better start listening to me Son. You're playing like you have your own agenda and that doesn't work out very well most of the time."
