Obviously the big winners to me are the Marlins and Angels.

 

I'd say the Cardinals and Brewers are the biggest losers, while the Cubs and Reds have to be included as well IMO.

Why are the Cubs and Reds losers? It isn't like you have to make a move now.

Mets are my biggest losers. Sat around at the trade deadline when they were completely out of it and made no effort whatsoever to trade Reyes. Then, they didn't even make a formal offer to keep him once Free Agency started. To further pour salt in the wound they lost him to a division rival.

Of course, a legit case can be made that the Reds are one of the big winners, just getting Prince and Pujols out of the division.

I was just about to type that the Reds would be a winner for me for that exact reason. I don't think they were ever seriously going to get in on any of the FA pitching and as of now all of the potential pitchers to trade for are still there...

If I'm a Mets fan I'm a lot more ticked off at my ownership/front office over what transpired at the winter meetings than if I'm a fan of probably any other team right now. I'd put them as the clear #1 losers.

I say this with EXTREME bias, I definitely think the Marlins were the big winners. They addressed several big needs and did a good job in changing the culture in South Florida and how the Marlins are viewed around the league. Finally, they put a big smile on formerkywrestler's face and that definitely should count for something!

Honorable Mention for Winner: Yankees for not feeling like they have to go bid on Fielder, Pujols, etc. They didn't try to sign everyone this week and they won't cripple themselves for seasons to come.

Yankees are always known for overspending on all the big time free agents. This year they didn't and that's a plus. They didn't need Pujols. Sure they could have used another starter but they would have over spent on Wilson or Burhele.
