Final from A-Town.

Holmes brought a very nice freshman basketball team to Alexandria on Saturday, and defeated the homestanding Mustangs 60-50.

Brossart led 18-15 after a quarter, but were outscored by the Dawgs 15-7 in ths second stanza relinquishing the lead 30-25 at the half.

The much quicker Bulldogs were able to get the ball inside with regularity and again ourscored the hometeam 13-9 in the third quarter.

The Mustangs had a three-ball in the air while trailing 49-42 that might have made things interesting, but the shot failed to hit its mark and that was as close as the Mustangs would come in the second half.

Bolden (16), Potter (14), and Covington (11) combined for 41 of the Bulldogs' 60 points.

On the other side of the ledger, the Mustangs received some good individual scoring efforts from Clay Kramer who led all scorers with 21 points and Spencer Hackworth with 13.

The Mustangs fall to 1-2 on the young season and 0-2 in the NKAC Division II race. They will welcome the Mason County Freshmen Royals on Monday night, December 5th at 6:30pm in the SyDome.

Nice win for the Bulldogs but if you take Bolden out of this Freshman lineup and I am guessing you see some losses.

Have a feeling this kid is going to be very special for the Dogs. By seasons end I'm going to say he is a regular contributor off Holmes varsity bench.
