Fantasy Football Advice: Week 9

Any word on Mathews or McGahee? I may have to hit the waiver wire for a RB. Any suggestions?

Matthews is going to play, but he's hurting and is one play away from the bench. Even if McGahee returns, Oakland is shutting down the rushing. You might want to hit the waiver wire. If you have to start one, go with Matthews and pray he makes it through the whole game.

Alex Smith @ WAS

Tim Tebow @ OAK

Flip a coin. Probably will post similar numbers. I'd probably go with Smith.

Chris Johnson vs. Cincy

Jackie Battle vs. Miami

This is my flex, I could plug in a WR, but I'd rather have an RB.

Battle

Pick 2:

Victor Cruz vs NE

S. Johnson vs NYJ

Green Ellis vs Giants

A Johnson vs Cleveland (I don't think he will play)

D Branch vs Giants

Heyward Bay vs Den

I was leaning toward Cruz and Green Ellis. I think S Johnson will have a tough matchup vs Revis.

Cruz and Heyward-Bey

Usually people don't ask for advice on defesnses, but I'm playing the second place team in my league (also a good friend who will never shut up if he beats me) and I'm projected to win by .2 right now...

We do lose gain/lose points based on points scored and yards allowed, then all your other standard scoring.

Atlanta Falcons @ Indy

Oakland Raiders vs. Denver

I don't think you can go wrong with either D. Both have very favorable matchups. I'm going with Atlanta since Detroit is on a bye.

I don't need any advice, I just need a prayer. With McFadden likely out I'm forced to start one of the following.

Kendall Hunter

Bernard Scott

Isaac Redman

Brandon Jacobs

Kevin Faulk

Jacobs

Picked up R. Bush. Due to byes I have to flex an RB this week

:puke:

I totally understand when you have lack of options. Maybe he'll surprise all of us and actually do something this week. I wouldn't get my hopes up.

OK, with McFadden out I'm going to have to do some shifting here. I have McCoy as my RB1 and Battle has moved up to my RB2 spot with McFadden out. That puts me in need of a flex.

I need a FLEX. Pick one.

Marshawn Lynch @ Dal

Darrius Heyward-Bey - Den

Daniel Thomas @ KC

David Nelson - Jets

Heyward-Bey

Do I keep CJ in or roll with Brandon Jacobs vs New England?

It's hard to sit CJ. As soon as you do, he's going to bust out. But how long can you keep hoping for his break out game. I'd go the safer route and start Jacobs this week and wait for a better matchup to go back to Johnson.

Pick 2...

Payton Hillis @ Houston (Hillis first game back after hamstring injury)

Brandon Jacobs @ New England (Bradshaw is out)

Jackie Battle Vs Miami

Battle

Not in a great situation here, but:

Eric Decker @ Oakland

David Nelson @ New York Jets

PPR league. I'm going with Nelson right now. Stevie Johnson will be on Revis Island so maybe Nelson gets more targets. But Decker is about the only option for Tebow and they are likely going to be playing from behind all day unless Carson does his thing and keeps it close. He's managed decent numbers through garbage time too.

Battle and (I don't like either WR this week) Bouldin

I can understand why. Boldin against Pit's D or Marshall against Brandon Flowers is rough. Would you rather start...

David Nelson vs. the Jets (probably not)

Michael Crabtree @ Washington (maybe?)

He's starting to show some signs of life. Yes he had 2 INT's last week, but he also threw for 369 yds. If Gates stays healthy, he will open things up for the WR's and RB's. That should translate to some good numbers for Rivers.

No kidding, teams are double teaming him like crazy. I've never seen a defense double a TE like teams are doing to Gates.

I'd probably lean towards Nelson. I feel like he's been at least consistent with his numbers, though they aren't huge.
